My steering was beginning to feel loose, especially when hitting uneven pavement on the highway. A lot of play in the OEM tie rod ends after 72,000 miles so I had Predator 4 Wheel Drive install the Yeti Steer Smarts steering set up and the Jeep handles better than new.

Did you replace the tie rod ends too?

I’m guessing new tie rod, new drag link, new stabilizer, and probably sector shaft brace. Steersmarts is top of board.

I recently upgraded my front end with steersmarts trackbar, sector shaft brace and Fox ATS Stabilizer. The highway wandering has been reduced and the control feels good.

Pics? Link?
If you want, I can dig some up of mine. I have their PRO track bar, pro tie rod, XD drag link, and sector shaft brace.

Thinking of doing something similar, if you only had $1000 to improve the drive feel and highway wandering how would you spend it... is this exact setup something I should consider or would you do something different?

It's always worth checking the front end for anything that is loose/warn and checking all the torque specs. If after that you don't see any improvements, lots of folks do see improvements with upgraded sector shaft brace and steering stabilizers. I included the trackbar replacement because I'm intended to lift soon. These parts also seem to improve handling on lifted vehicles as well.
