I thought the steering issue dated back to 2020 or something when they were using an aluminum steering box but then replaced it with a steel one. My 2024 JTR handles very well, much better than any other Jeep I have ever had. It's certainly not my wife's BMW but then, the Bimmer can't climb a tree or navigate through 2 feet of mud here. But then, for what it's designed to do, I am very pleased.

I have heard from numerous advertising that the 2026 wrangler and gladiator had new tuning that improves improved steering.
Has anyone bought a 2026 gladiator and compared the “steering wander” to earlier years?
Thx
What steering wander? All they need is a bit more caster from the factory - some come out as low as 4 .

I haven't had any steering wander AT ALL - not since the second steering box replacement on the 2020 I had.
2022 - perfect
2025 - perfect, no wander at all, not a bit.

Google search turned up a little from other forums.

More precise steering
- More precise on-center feel
- Recalibrated steering rack
- Mechanical and electronic enhancements, tighter tolerances
- Electronic power steering system with new programming to vary assistance based on vehicle speed and driving conditions

* More Precise Steering: The 2026 Wrangler will have a more precise on-center feel, recalibrated steering rack, and mechanical and electronic enhancements.

Caster can impact the first point.
These don't have a "rack" - maybe they are talking RATIO. Might be a variable ratio sector, but unless there's a major change, these aren't rack and pinion.
Tighter tolerances - all I can think of is the caster tolerance and even in the steering sector itself.
They already vary assistance based on speed and such, but maybe they are modifying the programming for that.

My 2024 Sport S bought new wandered, and the ‘25 Rubicon I traded for new wanders, compared to an F150 4x4 I had traded out of.

I just figured it was a solid front axle Jeep thing.

My steering has been good for five years now. Roughly five years ago I had the aluminum steering gear replaced. The only improvement, other than that was a fox steering stabilizer and running 33-34 psi. All of that helped tremendously. Now it’s good for road trips. I’ve even driven it cross country. It was horrible when I first bought it.

I test drove a 2021 Mojave a few years ago, and it really wandered - you definitely had to steer and be awake at the wheel or it would drift all over on the freeway! But I purchased a 2024 Mojave in January, and the steering is solid! It doesn't drift or wander at all. Huge improvement. I've taken it on some long road trips and it is a joy to drive - especially with the adaptive cruise control. :) So in my opinion, they've already made huge improvements on the steering even with the 2024 mode. I have not driven a 2025.
2021 Mojave, 25k miles - 0 drift ever. Same steering components as your 2024. 0 changes. Same parts. The 2021 you drove was broken.

You haven't even changed the lower control arms? All stock?
I don't think I'm going to bother with the MOPAR lift kit lower control arms, mine does just fine as it is.

Only thing I've done up front is X springs and AutoLYNX discs.
