I vaguely remember your posts on that. Was it because you had the legacy OEM Rubicon Fox shocks and they stopped making them and converted over to the red body Tenneco made ones?
yes, and it took me scouring the forum to find the part number for my local dealer who could not figure it out to save their jobs. which is probably why i have 6 different service writes and 3 different service managers. I had even dropped the Jeep off 3 times for them to have it all day and to call me at the end of the day to tell me they didn't have the shock. I must say, I loath going to that dealership for anything. Now i have rust on my hood LOL

Got unofficial word today, probably no new launches in 26.

Maybe the Compass, but not likely.
Thank you. I always appreciate your insights.

You think we will ever get to the point where we have little turbines in the vehicle and solar panel paint that we get free power to the vehicles? Or naa wont happen? (or at least supplemented some free power).

Solar, maybe.

Wind, no.

There's no such thing as a free lunch.

I've heard the 4Xe was revised for the 2026 JL enhancing the range. Is that true?

Not so much range as capacity.

That's the hold up, when towing it depletes the pack too rapidly.

Agreed, not trying to free more just like, would love to use SALT water to power things, know what I mean? But aye rustttttttttt. I guess I more for common sense efficiency without having to be a gatekeeper to access to something...etc.

I think he was referring to the JLU 4xe - and there's been articles about the new ZF transmission that extends the range with the same batteries. Taking the JLU from 25 to 30 or better would be a big deal.

Stock shocks aren't worth the time even if they are free in my opinion. Aside from the mojave they are all under dampened. Definitely not worth dealing with the dealer when I can buy a set of bilstein 5100s for $400 and have much better dampening. Add in the fact that you'll gain 30-50% more droop with aftermarket shocks and It’s 2 simple bolts and you don't even need a jack. Sometimes even free comes with way more disadvantages than spending some money. Reminds me of going to a baseball game when they did $1 hot dog days. Those stands had people waiting in line for multiple innings to save a few bucks, I'd rather spend a bit more and enjoy the game I came to watch.

I can't speak for the other JTs, but the shocks with the Overland were really quite good, no bounce, handled well towing. The Rubicon shocks were a joke on the Overland.
The stock shocks even worked well with the plow on the front.
I tried Eibachs on my 22 - way too harsh. I let them go with the truck.

But perhaps some of that was perception and preference.
In general - if I had to make a decision on your take, I'd probably choose agree.

The only JT shocks I have experience with are the mojave, but our 2019 JLUR shocks were terrible. The 2022 xr shocks were just as bad and despite having a 2" longer compressed length somehow manned to keep the less than 8" stroke. The xr bump stops are long enough to run metalcloak rocksport red shocks with over 12" of stroke.

The hybrid is nice and if my JT was hybrid i might me able to afford driving it regularly but IMO 40 mile (give or take ) for EV only is pretty lame. but if i could increase my Per/tank mileage to 400+ miles per tank that would be amazing. Right Now i barely get 300 miles per tank of gas.
But you can. Diesel is the answer. I get 400+ miles out of a tank with my Rubicon eco diesel. And it has almost as much torque as a 4xe.

Its not about efficiency. If it was cars would be getting smaller and lighter.
