Hi all. Was looking to build and price out a 2026 Sports S. I wanted max towing option, for the 6500lb GVWR, but when i do that, it won't allow me to get the Body coloured hard top. Anyone know if the dealership can work around that?

I am in Canada by the way.

No work around, other than paying someone to paint the hard top after the truck shows up.

Not sure if they had that option this year. The past few years you were able to and even get the powered seats for those who like that. With the introduction of the sahara package i think that killed the option. Only if you get the dark sky but then no max tow. Also don't forget the 2027 model year order banks are active at dealerships i believe. I know its expensive to buy the paintable hardtop then have a shop do the work.

Not sure what color Gladiator you want but if you did want black (not my cup of tea but to each his own), it comes with a black hardtop and by default you have a matching top.

If you are looking at towing capacity, have you also considered the Rubicon? Ok, 700 lbs. less than the Max Tow. But is 7,000 lbs. enough?

If it were my money (and I am looking at the US build site for Gladiators), there is an 18k difference (61k vs. 43k) between the Sport S and the Rubicon X (which has the matching color top and fenders). But the Rubicons are often discounted much more.

For example, right now, there is a 10% off MSRP on the Rubicons. That's over $6,000 off. Add $2,000 to the Sport S for the Max Tow and now the difference is down to $10,000 ($55k vs. $45k). Now it comes down to how much do you want to add to the Max Tow since the Rubicon X is basically loaded with options that cost extra on the Max Tow or are not even available. Things like the upgraded Alpine Sound System, Active Safety thing with the blind spot indicator on the mirrows, convenience package, steel bumper for a winch, leather power seats and a long list of other stuff. Plus, if you plan on getting the top painted, you could easily approach or surpass the cost of the Rubicon X if you loaded it with a lot of options. Plus, you are likely to get better dealer discounts from a vehicle sitting on the lot than something you are ordering.

Just my thoughts but I personally went the Rubicon route (standard, not X) since the price for mine was actually less than a couple of loaded Max Tows and Willys models on the lot. Keep the ending price in mind when you compare these things.

I was actually trying to get the Rewind, but they are sold out and can no longer be ordered. So plan was to buy Reign, and get the decals/wrap done myself.

He mentioned GVWR - so he may be after the payload.

My Max Tow was rated for about 400 pounds more payload than my buddies Rubicon.
