I'm curious when was the last time (model year) jeep did not offer red?

I always thought red, black and white were mainstays and never left the color wheel.
I forgot who but I thought someone here mentioned that the statistical take rate on red Gladiators was really low.

It was a quote of a quote without any statistical citation. Hootbro stated they recall it being ~3% of orders, which wouldn't surprise me. Of course I would also not be surprised to find that 40-50% of orders are for the limited release colors, as most people do in fact still walk in for purchases.

I've ordered 3 vehicles in my life and so far every time the dealership, all different dealers, stated that they don't order often, although some people primarily shop that way. Some dealers have changed their sales approach opting for orders and travel purchases, but I'd wager they still do the bulk of their sales locally.

Jeep most likely researches their own inventory time and options and the correlations there. Thats how they decide to allocate the most volume. Orders are probably less than 10% of all purchases, so accurate or not, the value is too small to really use as a ruler.

We dont really need it though, red is a staple color that most manufacturers offer either in bright gloss, or metallic variations. Yet even here, there arent many that own red. Its not very popular, even if the people that like red are passionate about it. 🤷‍♂️

That was me in post #12.

I cannot find the exact ones on the Gladiator but if it trends like the Wrangler it is pretty close to that number. There is guy on the JL side that goes by "Ratbert" that up until a year or so could get that info.

Link below is 2023 numbers for the JL and it shows red at 4.2% with black and white color leading together with almost 50%.

For a so called "base color", it really was not doing all that great compared to the yearly rotating colors that came in for a year or two. The percentage numbers for the limited edition colors is also skewed low because they were not available all year with many just having a few short weeks.

Why does Jeep hate the Gladiator? Wranglers get so many more options. Baffles me...
Wrangler is their bread and butter. But I get it, I would like a factory 35's and a 4.56 gear option among other things the Wrangler gets.

If I didn't need a truck bed so bad, I'd have a BAD itch to go get a Wrangler with the Xtreme Recon package. It would be all the capability I could stand, and I didn't have to lift a finger for it 🤣

That's what took me hours to figure out from looking at and in dozens of Jeep's to find the patterns.

I give that feedback constantly lol.

There are a bewildering amount of options and packages, and they don't translate from JL to JT.

Line item the crap or consolidate.

Mine is totally modded out and goes great. It's better than anything on the new lot. Why would I trade? Even a Hemi would be a tough reason. Just the Hemi sound??? LOL. Mine goes faster off road than I can go.
