Well back home.
Roughly 500 mile round trip with lots of beach driving in 4Hi aired down to 16-18psi and then about 20 min of stop and go traffic on the interstate on way home due to accident.

So had plenty opportunity to use the clutch and set a service transmission light for sure and with this trip and a total of 800miles since last time the light was on and tire adjustment I feel confident that it’s fixed.

only thing I’ll do later this week is take a spin around my property in 4Lo to see what happens…..

🤙 cheers

Preliminary update.
450 miles since everything was reset and changed and I’ve been out on the beach in 4Hi yesterday. No issues “yet”.

maybe onto something with changing the tires size just. Little smaller than actual measurement. I don’t know. But I’m aired down to 17psi right now and so far so good guys.
Great !, I had a feeling that reducing the tire diameter with the Tazer would work... Thanks so much for testing it. Tire Diameter always gets smaller when you air down, so, a simple calculation by the computer using tire size would indicate wheel slip. I have been putting off getting any software update and new clutch for my manual JTR, so, since I already have the Tazer, your post has been enough to change my mind and get the warranty fix. Thanks !

I did use JScan not that should matter to set the tire size. But with them set little smaller then actual it’s doing great. I tried everything I would normally do from 4Hi,4low, on and off road and aired up or down.

Hope your experience is good and you don’t even have to bother with the BS I did.

Guess who’s back 🤣

made it 1,701 miles with out issue. Today riding home on 95 in about 2 miles of
Traffic shifting 1-2 and 2-1 mostly bam Service Transmission light 🤮

All and all not to bad I made it this long. Hate saying that cause shouldn’t even be a thing. That said stopped at gas station and did a partial reboot with Tazer and back on the way in maybe 30 seconds so big shout out to their new update for this!

Can’t see taking it to dealer so gonna keep rocking until maybe Jeep gets a better computer update.

So those following with a service transmission light…….

I’m at 12k miles now and still randomly setting a service transmission light. I was informed of something I may have been missing when I calibrated my tires.

There is a setting in the BCM called “dynamic tire circumference”. This size is in mm and was set to my stock Mojave tires. I calculated the circumference of my Nitto’s and was able to change it using JScan app. So now tires are set and I’ve verified the pcm data, reset the eeprom.

I’ll check back in some time with update to if this has fixed the issue or it remains.
currently set the service trans light about 150 miles give or take driving conditions im in.

Backstory : purchase my Jeep mid January 2024 and prior to purchase it had the clutch recall and gear position sensor recalls performed.

At 200 miles I installed nitro 35x11.50r17 trail grapplers which measure 34.76” on manufactures website and I calibrated speedometer with a tazer which GPS confirmed an accurate speedometer.

Opinion is the clutch from day one pedal feel was terrible and after some research it was barely rated to handle the engines output. Also due to poor feed back and probably to light of a fly wheel installed this jeep more than anything I’d ever driven and I’ve been driving them for 20+ years.

Yes I know a lot of people complain about this and I knew it going in and I don’t regret purchase at all.

So…… Now for problems as I’ve run into and what insight I can offer to date (for anyone who cares or that’s still reading?).

At about 4,100 miles I was out offraoding on a beach in thick sand cruising (4Hi and aired down tires). I say cruising because I was doing minimal shifting and was not slipping the clutch. Well the clutch hot display came on and then I stopped and immediately the “service transmission light” came on. The jeep went to limp mode. No matter what I did with the tazer or disconnecting the battery I was unable to reset the light.

I limped the jeep 70 miles to dealer they ended up performing the “PCM Clutch EEPROM reset procedure”. This ended up clearing the light and was not the first they had seen do this. I needed to get back on the road so they were ok with doing this so I could finish my vacation and make it home.

About 2 weeks ago I decided that I was gonna rule out the factory clutch set up and go for a better setup and feel as well. Purchased a ACT JP6-HDSS heavy duty clutch with Pro-Mass flywheel. I spent about $1300 on the kit and another $200 on a transmission jack to do the job as I had the rest of the tools needed. Not my first time doing a clutch but my first time without a lift.

It took me about 7 hours to do the swap on the ground and probably could do it a little quicker on the next one,but hope that won’t be anytime soon lol. All and all not a terrible job to do.

The kit was straight forward replacement and used the factory hydraulics. I’ve put about 150 miles highway and city on it since the swap and it’s still to early for a full review( I’ll keep updates in the post of my opinion as time goes on if your curious). Pedal feel is firmer then the factory (post recall) clutch and very obvious engagement point as well now. Very happy with it so far it has a good bit of chatter when first taking off if no throttle input in 1st and reverse (others have noted this) but this is normal and should get better once it’s broke in as well(others have also noted this).

20 miles after clutch replacement I got the “Service transmission light” a second time in 4Hi. I was unsure if that was the cause or not. Went back and checked everything over and everything seems as it should be.

*Important note here! Worked with JScan and they updated their app within a few days to allow us to do the clutch reset that the factory techs can do. Again no Codes and I didn’t have limp mode this time. I performed the reset and light was gone and everything function as it should.

Last but not least it set the light again about 50 miles later which I reset and it has held currently. My thoughts on this and I welcome opinions is it’s a Jeep software issue that hopefully they will get a fix for sooner or later. Only a matter of time before it comes back I’m sure.

That said ACT product so far is great but will update later and JScan customer service is fantastic I can’t recommend them enough. Hope not to many of you are having these issues and if anyone else has fixes for these issues please share. ?

Some pictures in comments of my ride and ACT & Factory clutch.
What is the name of the feature on the JScan that you ran to do the clutch reset like the factory techs can do?

Goto adaptation -> maintenance -> then pick “PCM - Clutch Replacement EEPROM Reset”

awesome thanks. I just got the JScan, but have had a Tazer for a while. Do you know if Tazer ever released the fix they told you about?

I had a Centerforce put in and have been dealing with the same thing. Like you said it’s always when low speed shifting low gear shifting. Mine has come on in all modes 2HI-4HI-4LO though and never made it past 200 miles before it come back. Usually closer to like 75 miles. My work around on the Tazer has been to speed scroll to full reboot before the light come on upon going in to run.

Tazer will let you do the partial reboot using the steering controls when it locks you out with the service transmission light but that’s about it.
from what I am still hearing in some of the forums though 0 fix from Jeep still.

Do you do any towing? Was wondering if you found the truck to be better under load?

I struggled going up hills with 3500lbs, I got some weird metallic vibration noise going on.

So far the dealer(s) (3 to be accurate) have replaced everything from clutch, drive shafts, transmission and diffs trying to ge to the bottom of this metallic noise @ 3K rpms
