And they may well be..........
Before buying anything - check the part number with Benny to make sure it's correct for your VIN. I don't buy parts like cams unless I verify the part number.

All the high lift rocker arm and lobe failures are NOT on the same lobe or same cylinder. It varies, but most are on the right bank.

What did they find was the cause of the right bank failure last time?

wooooo, doggy, those are sure bad ones!

I've got some pics from a couple of forum members similar to that. And sometimes it's almost all of the lobes, other times, just a couple. It really varies as to which, how many, but it's generally right side - if it's going to happen, the odds are better for it to happen on the right. Can be left, but.............

What do you mean "last time" ??? To the OP? Dealerships haven't been doing root cause analysis as far as I know, unless they are named Charles.................

Everytime I see these failure pics it looks like they are melted. . Like the lobe is initially harder than the cam followers.
I dont even know why I am writing this ..lol

If it isn't followers but gets locked up in one position it will rub it down ??

If it is locked in one position, it causes a misfire. If it locks in high lift at low speed, or fails to lock into high lift at high speed (the rocker stays in low lift mode), then a misfire results. I have been trying to get techs in the shop to run the VVL Service test when confronted by a misfire that is not obviously traceable to ignition or fuel issues. The VVL Service test would give them a good start on diagnosing these odd misfires. Oddly enough, a worn rocker and cam lobe usually doesn't cause a misfire DTC to set. Just my experience, but I have worked on and specialized in the 3.6 Pentastar engines since they were introduced.

That makes sense as the only issue is a lower valve lift than normal. It's not that it doesn't operate. They have to be really worn down to cause a misfire even on an old-school engine

For those still under warranty, obviously
have warranty work done by the dealer.
For those out of warranty, a remanufactured (reman) engine may be a better choice. Here is one that show how they use a different rocker and their video does a fair job of showing how the original rocker rollers fail. Jasper Engines

That's interesting. I wondered about that.
But will it be any different than OE?
In other words, will they use different rockers?

There's the $64,000 question

Which if by the time misfire would be detected then there is plenty of contamination from metal particles in the engine. Correct ? I know there has been a few fuy on here saying that the have had more than one cam fail .
@charlesare the engines after cam failures cleaned in some way? Are the oil pans removed and cleaned ? 🤔
I feel strongly that after one cam failing a likelihood of this reoccurring is possibly without elimination of containments.

In an ideal world - larger bits get washed down to the sump by the oil returning to the sump and are caught in the oil pump pickup screen, everything else at the oil filter so there's nothing circulating around in the engine.
My thing is the stuff that gets through the screen to eat at the oil pump.
