Still would be shady in my opinion. I highly doubt if known to them, FCA would condone it.

I will not sit on a moral high horse saying I would never do the same if faced with months wait and no ETA, but the temptation should not be there to begin with. Creates a situation where one is buying access to be more equal than others.

For that guy to win, somebody had to lose. No lawyer but it seems borderline illegal if looked at through the lens for those who are waiting under warranty for repair.

Kinda like pay through the nose, sell your left kidney, a pint of blood, your hair and even your kids and jump que and get your surgery done mucho pronto OR just pay through the nose and wait your turn like everybody else.

I wouldn't pay - and beyond that, I'd literally contact FCA about it. Yes, I would.
I can find ways around problems, the wait and so on, but seeing what they were doing to others would drive me bonkers, and getting away with it? Nope, sorry. For some reason thinking about this made me recall a letter one of my HS teachers wrote 30 years ago - and how my parents operated. I guess I live to honor them in some ways.
That letter has stuck with me and made me think every time I'm presented with such a choice.

I'd let that dealership know exactly what I thought (does anyone even question that HAHAHAHA), and take it up a notch.
If a dealership will do that, what ELSE will they do?

Trust is as good as cash. (but harder to get back if lost).
I do stupid things, and maybe even questionable things - but it's not my aim.

I just checked ebay for our rightside camshafts. I noticed two for sale with mopar labels selling for about $327/$360. The illustrated boxes read "made in Mexico".

Before buying anything - check the part number with Benny to make sure it's correct for your VIN. I don't buy parts like cams unless I verify the part number.

If all the failures are the same lobe on the same cam,,, they need to look at the lot # on these. My dealer service guy says they have switched supplier and that is the supply problem. So the cam gets replaced with exactly the same one that failed. Isn't that the definition of crazy.
