Thank you everyone for commenting. I have the auto tranny and I think I’m leaning towards 35’s at this point and maybe a 2” spacer lift. A stubby front bumper is definitely on the wish list but not the near future.

You need to regear for 37s.

You need to regear even for 35s.

35s on my factory 4.10 gears isn’t even really ideal. There’s no chance I’d want 37s on the stock gears.

I’ll be moving to 4.88 when my 35s wear out and I replace them with 37s.
This.

I have 35s on 4.10s with a Livernois tune. It's fine. It works. But I'd rather have 4.56s or 4.88s.

4.88 regear was a solid investment for me.

This should be a sticky somewhere:

https://www.quadratec.com/c/reference/best-gear-ratio-when-adding-larger-tires

The above link is a great resource and will help you decide the best gear ratio.
The quadratec link is interesting, but it doesn't make much sense. It shows the RPMs going 65 MPH in 4th Gear! At 65 MPH I'd be either shifting up to 6th or 5th if it's uphill. I have the 3.73 gears and have not had any issues in over 20k miles - that includes towing, cross country riding and in town driving. Re-gearing your rig is not an immediate necessity unless you do a lot of "Crawling" - op

Matter of preference for sure. You could be quite happy with 35s. At my altitude I lost a good deal of power. All vehicles do. When I end up crawling I am usually above 9k and sometimes above 13k. That pic is Imogene. At 13,110 I was glad to be geared at 4:88.

I 100% agree with your opinion. It is all about what you choose to do with your Jeep.
I would recommend that before you pull the trigger on gears. Find someone with the set up and take theirs for a drive. Out in Colorado Springs? We can get a beer and you can drive mine.

No. I have a Sport S. I am running Rubicon take offs and a Terraflex spacer.
With 35s I regeared to 4.88. I am 6,000 feet above you. I rubbed at full flex and I wheel a lot.
You may be able to live with 35s in Florida.
33s were very livable.

Are you an auto or manual? You will also lose 8th gear on the freeway, and likely never see 7th anymore. If you go over an overpass it will downshift to 5th to make it up the “hill.”

Reference: I’m on 3.73 and 35’s so 37s would only be worse.

So- definitely do it because 37s look awesome. I wish mine weren’t warrantied for 50k miles because I’d jump on some too. Mine is lifted and makes 35s almost look small.

Going to second this. Im in a Willys Sport S, Auto / Gas. I have the stock 33`s, 3.73 and tow package (not max tow, but tow package) and already I rarely see 8th. Im planning to go to 35`s when these wear out but will be saving ahead of time so that I can get regeared to 4.56 at the same time.

I have a sport S with max tow (4:10 gears) and 37" with a 3.6 motor. The lift is the Mopar 2" and I have the 1.5" spacers on top of the coil springs. The wheels are Maham and I dont know the backspacing but there is no rub and I rip the tires loose when I take off if I am in a hurry. People say you need this and that but this is what I have on it and drive it daily. It pulls my flatbed trailer with one of the other Jeeps on it fine and get a lot better gas millage doing it then the 2500 Ram I had. Just my two cents on what I have and greatly enjoy. It has been a lot of fun since I took delivery of it in February 2021.

EXACTLY what happened to me. I could live with 3.73 and 33s, but 2 weeks of 35s and I was calling about gears.
