Unless the steering is able to go to full lock, and the suspension is able to fully articulate without any rubbing, they do not fit. Driving through a mall parking lot with the sway bar connected without rubbing on the tire isn’t an actual test of the vehicle. If they rub under any circumstances, they don’t fit. They were put on for looks, and the vehicles abilities were immediately reduced.

Sorry for the vent, but there are members asking these questions that want accurate answers. I’d hate to see someone buy expensive tires, just to find out that they ā€œfitā€ only while driving straight on the road, without many bumps.

Has this question been answered yet? This is pretty much exactly what I want to know. There are a bunch of 37s on a mojave/rubicon threads but I'm having trouble finding this answer. Can 37s (or a specific brand of 37s) fit and the suspension fully articulate without issues?

You’re asking the right question. No. Can you mount a 37ā€ tire, depending on its specific size? Sure. Some run smaller than others. But depending on your base trim, which defines what fenders and springs you have, you’ll at some point rub the tire when steering, and on the fenders at full articulation. There are lots of variables. I’ve seen people run 35ā€ tires on rubicon suspension, but sport fenders, and still rub the fender at full articulation. Rubicon fenders would almost certainly clear, and you can get some narrow 35’s to avoid steering rub. But 37’s, you’re going to rub without a lift. People do mount these, but the end result is a loss of functionality.

Even on a Mojave? I know 37s would almost certainly rub on a stock Rubicon, but isn't the Mojave a little taller up front? Or is the rear the issue?

I’ll defer to Mohave owners in that respect, but I can’t imagine it wouldn’t rub at some point, even with a bit more clearance. They’re a bit higher, but steering really b should still be a concern when you get to 12.5 widths. I guess since the Mohave doesn’t come with a stock swaybar disconnect (I don’t think), the perception of no rubbing could exist. But with a disconnected swaybar and that upgraded suspension, I’d expect some rubbing. And tiny 37’s like k02’s might provide a bit more wiggle room. I’d be surprised if mine would fit at full flex though. Would some Mohave owners like to weigh in, specifically talking 37’s at full steering lock, full articulation, and a disconnected swaybar?

I run Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs 37x12.5

No rubbing at full lock and full articulation. If I had a swaybar that I could disconnect, then I would rub, but as is, no I do not rub on or offroad.

Nice. I have the same tires. What pressure have you been running them on the road? I’ve been experimenting between 34 and 36, but haven’t found that perfect sweet spot yet. They’re amazing on the rocks.

I run them at 38. Anything lower feels too loose imo and anything higher is too harsh imo. 38 is the sweet spot for me. Mind you my rack and tent are gone too so this is with no weight. I was running 40 psi with the rack and tent

Interesting. I’ll maybe try a bit higher then. Your wheels look wider than mine, so I was trying to go a bit softer to not dome the tread. I’m running them on stock 7.5 rubicon wheels, only 1/2ā€ less than MT recommends, but maybe that’s enough. The shop that mounted them felt confident that they’d work fine. Thanks. How wide are your wheels?

I’m hoping to not do wheels right now, but thanks, this helps. I was running them lower because it felt harsh at high speeds, but maybe that was pinion angle vibration, which I’ve corrected recently.

Full articulation means different things to different folks.

I had a jku sport and the had the teraflex quick discos and then got a take off rubi bar.

For me, it means flexed at disco. But for someone else who's never had it, it might just mean a wheel off the ground.

So technically, they might fit at full articulation on stock suspension without rubbing. Then again, I run a JTR. So no idea. Hahaha

Yep. Full articulation IMO is only with a disconnected swaybar. If your tires are too big to allow you to disconnect it, then they don’t fit with that suspension setup. But I disconnect mine every time I’m off-road.
