Spoken like true Troll/Michigander. 810 for the 🏆 ✌. I grew up in the knuckle of the Thumb near Port Huron. Slappity Slap, have a Pop.

I thought everyone down here was like 4'10 and survived entirely on sugar beats until I was 8

Will still be cheaper to buy a WIlly's and have a AMW Hemi swap done.
This is my dilemma

I have quotes from 40k to 125k for various builds.
I paid 48k OTD for my Mojave in 2021
88k for a 5.7 would seem like a lot.

But they just put a 392 in a Durango for under 50k. If they price a Mojave/Rubicon with the idea to move volume, i'd be game.

But if the prices are equal, i'd probably just do the swap as my Jeep will be paid for and I don't have to deal with a dealer's BS to get one.

I am pretty sure this is the overwhelming sentiment from anyone who is/would be serious about buying one. Me included.

Again, no mention of any earth shaking changes, just pushed job 1 for 26 back a few weeks.

would be nice! but its not just dropping in an engine. if you look at AMW parts, they need to do new engine mounts, new mount for transfer case, bigger radiator, new location for washer fluid, mechanical power steering (not electrical), new exhaust, new ac compressor, steel oil pans, etc.....

lots of reengineering to drop in the engine. the Durango was already designed with a V8, so its easy to swap engines

Except Jeep has already done all that when they started installing hemis in the wrangler 392. All the engineering is done.

i guess, different chassis, but we will see, don't expect it to be less that 80K base 6.4 and a 10K 392 "package" added. then the 10K dealer markups

My VM box was full, so I went in and bulk deleted everything prior to that day, and it flashed on the screen briefly that that goofball had called me lol. Wish I had seen it before i deleted it, I'm sure it was some kind of, bro we can go back and forth off this crap forever and profit!

I was, ironically, also going back and forth with Thyssen-Krupp for my day job at the same time and must have decided he was with them and I had dealt with it lol.

And that's what some have been saying - it's not just a drop in, whether or not the engine would physically fit the engine bay.
The 4.0 is the same size as the 258, but I had to relocate a lot of stuff under the hood, washer tank, coolant recovery, re-route the exhaust, re-route the fuel system to the other side - it was a lot of work and effort to get things to fit that engine bay, even though if you measure the blocks and heads- same size.
Similar for here - physically, it will fit that area, but............ and as I've said - change the air flow, you need new reports for the EPA. Move the fan a couple of inches, you have to report it. Evaporative emissions mean you have to show the air flow through the engine bay, the cabin of the vehicle, under the vehicle and more.

Wrangler 392 exists though. A lot of that work has been done.

The Durango 392 came out in 2018 for 65k
Its now 49k for 2026.

Almost 25% so they can move them! I'd be curious to see what the R/T loses vs the SRT 392 because I'm sure it is something.

I think they are looking at going back to moving volume. 80k wouldn't be terrible, but I think it comes in even less.

From the B pillar forward, all JLs and JTs are identical except for the Mojave and it's extra bracing. The frame is the same, the engineering is the same.

What Stellantis charges is what they are going to charge..

That's not at all true, if it were, they wouldn't need to sequence them and they wouldn't carry different part numbers.

The rails, bare, are the same, but frame, assembled, is 100% dependent on drivetrain
