Before a lady ran a stop sign and plowed into my front left wheel/ tire, I had put about 30k on my 40's and sport s front axle. I had RCV and Artec truss; I also have a heavy foot :) Nothing done to the rear and I've gone rock crawling.

Been eyeing Mickey 42's so I'm interested to follow along on this.

I’m running 40x13.50 Toyo Open Country M/Ts on my 2022 Mojave and getting ready to truss my axles. Is there a reason you didn’t truss the rear axle?

When I first took delivery the rear truss I wanted wasn't available (artec) and I just never got around to it.

At that time a few people were having rear axle leaking problems too, and I knew if I trussed it that would most likely be an automatic warranty decline.

Anyways years later, no leaks & no breaks yet. I will be putting a truss on it this summer though. Its one of those out of sight out of mind things.

if they ever leak, just swap them out for the rev gear or yukon. Both mine leaked and each side was almost $400 (I went with OEM like a dummy). The seals are pressed on for the OE, I'm sure the aftermarket seals are better.

That makes sense. I’m waiting for the quote on having my axles trussed and when I saw your build it made me wonder if I really needed to do the rear since it doesn’t support as much weight as the front. I will eventually put a rack and tent on so there will eventually be more weight so I’ll go ahead and do it at the same time. Thanks for the clarification.

I can let you know in a couple months, I'm going up
From 42s?

I am thinking of swapping my springs from my 2.5" gamechanger lift to 3.5" springs and ofcourse adjusting the control arms for the added height and going to 40s. I already have RCVs, Synergy Knuckles, and MC Baller Joints.

I'm going to go from 40 to 42. RCV's are the biggest must, the knuckles are a great to have as well a the ball joints. You'll be just fine axle-wise with those mods and going to a 40/42 but will def need that extra inch of lift.
