To anyone considering a 41.22 kill switch... i wouldn't recommend this product unless you happen to carry a jump pack with you wherever you go.

Alternatively, you can carry your original starter fuse in the truck with you and plug it in when it wont start with the 41.22 installed.

No, it's not my batteries (aux was freshly replaced and main was tested at 100% charge and 100% capacity).

I'm not going to write out my entire series of events and diagnostics, all i'll says is I was left with a truck that wont start a half dozen times over the period of 4 weeks when my 41.22 was still installed, and as soon as I unplugged it and put the factory fuse back those problems all stopped (and my ASS Service light stopped coming on too).

Which one did you get? The wired unit with a hidden switch, or the remote unit?

I have had mine installed for sometime now. Being that it is currently the colder time of year still, I utilize the component less. I like to remote start my vehicle either via fob at close range (house/pulling up to) or phone app farther away (5-10 minutes).
I do not remote start for A/C. 😄

I have not had a single issue since install. No ASS service light, etc. Nothing. Wired w/hidden switch model. Did not know there was an alternative offering.

I have almost 50K miles on my bought new (self -ordered) 2022 and also have never had any issues with batteries—still original.

I am going to say, that I installed my 41.22 Kill Switch spring of 2025. I was often gone from my vehicle for the entire work week parked at work and it gave me some piece of mind. Especially with no roof or doors and just covered.

🤔💭 🤷🏻‍♂️

Mine worked for almost a year. Have no idea why it broke. I'm not saying I would expect every one of them to break, just saying mine did. Luckily for me I always carry a jump box in my truck (up until this issue i'd only ever used it to help others).

A kill switch is oodles more convenient for every day use, but if one was to park for anything long term without a kill switch and was concerned, pulling the starter fuse completely is always a possibility.

Have this installed on two vehicles for 2 years now. No issues.
I do have the original fuse tucked away just in case.

So…..the wired version is just a remote toggle switch in place of the relay right? And the toggle switch they use is that tiny little one on their website?
So if I’m a thief and the truck won’t start, I just look around for the red toggle switch in convenient reach from the driver’s seat?

That's step 2. Step 1, hood lock. Step 2 toggle. Step 3 pin lock combo. Step 4 manual transmission. The Gladiator is the 2nd most stolen vehicle in the RGV behind Chevy Silverado. https://myrgv.com/local-news/2025/0...d-in-vehicles-being-targeted-by-auto-thieves/

I'm not campaigning for anyone using one currently with no issues to uninstall in disgust. I'm just saying it's not bulletproof and future potential buyers might want to consider the risks of getting stranded if you get a unit that goes bad like mine did.

I always kept my OEM fuse hidden in my truck for just such an outcome. I would advise others to do the same.

I don’t know why you would hide the extra fuse. A paper clip, staple, other random wire, gum wrapper etc. can be a fuse in an emergency or when stealing a vehicle. Hell a good thief will be prepared for this and about 15 other deterrents.
This is just a 3-10 second hurdle for a thief. It may keep your kid from joy riding when they are not supposed to.
Locks only keep honest people honest.

Not a fuse. This device replaces the start relay in your fuse box. They even advise to keep the factory relay in a safe place in your vehicle should theirs crap out on you and fail to start.
