I've got some exciting news. Ramdriver501 from the Ram 1500 diesel forum bought a low mileage Ram 3rd gen EcoDiesel. It's not a Jeep, but his experience might give us some insight on how these engines holdup into high mileage. He averages approximately 8,000 miles per month. For those who are not familiar with his success, I'll post his Gen 2 EcoDiesel trucks below.

Ramdriver501 and his son (Tyler_R) are the two owner/operators. It will take some time, but at 96,000 miles per year, it will be fun to follow him.

These trucks were mostly run bone stock up to 200,000 miles or so before being deleted.

I bought the thing with 199k on it, Got a super smokin' deal on it, the dealer thought it had a bad engine...
It was the oil cooler that had failed and filled the cooling system COMPLETELY up with oil.
It was 100% stock, and found out also by records left behind the guy was a salesman and only used it on the highway! ZERO mud or dirt underneath, all highway. (I will never understand why folks by a Jeep and only drive it on the road all it's life) If I were spending that much windshield time, that would not be my choice, but whatever. (those are some of the same people that have cleaned out Dollar general of all their ducks), but to each his own.
Replaced the oil cooler/filter adapter assembly, and ALL hoses, and coolant bottle. They were soft and squishy from the oil being present in the cooling system. Had to flush, and flush, and flush, and flush, and flush, etc. to get all the oil out. Did that BEFORE I changed the hoses and bypassed the oil cooler just for the flushing sessions.
While I was changing the hoses some components fell off (don't know how that happened ), so it went on a big diet, thanks to GDE...
Since then, it got a 3"SS pipe from Tuner Depot, 3" over the axle pipe by MBRP, Great White North Diesel EGR kit, aFe cold air kit, 3 1/2 JKS lift, 37's, Smitty slider/steps, Smitty front bumper, PPE trans pan, Warn 10K, slim lightbar from TSC on the stinger, Bartact seat covers, Slim wrap around tail lights.
