It's all about what you're used to ...my CJ7 with a Hellcat runs out of gear at 135 mph..3:73 's with 35's....double triagulated four link front and rear 16 inch CO Swayaways...solid all day long.at 100 mph....I guess most don't do King of the Hammers or Baja....

Given that most trophy trucks are silhouettes with tube frames and LS derived drivetrains that trade engine output and rpm for axle gearing; why should I be offended if a 4.10 geared automatic transmission rubicon with mud terrain tires has issues trying to run the ton?

This is comparable to complaining about how hot and loud and uncomfortable it is in a 4.88 geared big block th400 Chevy II driving to the strip, of course it’s hot and loud and turning 4000rpm on the highway, you’re asking it to do something it wasn’t designed to.

The only reason there is a 97 mph limit is with the Offroad tires.

Get the standard ones for a higher max speed and then put other tires on.

But as others have said... I would not recommend going triple digits lol

As I have posted like 5 times per the order guide it doesn't matter which tires you pick. All Rubicons get JJ2 97 mph limiter..... hopefully that is an error that will be corrected at some point.

Is it an error really? To be honest in an automatic rubicon on M/T tires you are turning ~27-2800 rpm in 8th gear at 97mph, its struggling because the engine is struggling to make enough power to overcome aero-drag. It is also likely gear hunting as you bump off the limiter: bump-downshift-surge upshift-bump-downshift...

And just to remind everyone, why is this 97mph limit an issue? This is still a "exceeding posted speed limit" ticket no matter what road you are on and will likely result in a very nervous and wiggly ride unless the road is like glass, like they finished paving it that afternoon and did an amazing job smooth.

Just sayin';...

I feel like everyone complaining about this seemingly low limit hasn't actually gone that fast in it. My JKUR on M/T's at 80 is a nervous machine. I've had the chance on newly paved road to run the ton and holy guacamole it is not recommended.

So who cares if it struggles at the seemingly low top end? It's got the aero of a brick and no where near the power of a phantom. At slow walking speed I'm gonna get through the woods a whole lot easier in my Luftverteidigungsdiesel than a SRT Demon Hellcat Charger.
The point is, why even have it?

For Reference, a 2019 Ford F150 Raptor : "Top speed (governor limited): 108 mph"
I don't feel cheated that I'm "missing" 11 Miles Perr.

Can Confirm, I ordered A/T and 97 cal is listed.

The “reason” is because the falken wildpeak MT has a speed rating of Q which is 99mph, maximum permissible wheel speed.

Spin the tire too fast and thing start to happen, spin it too fast for too long and really bad things happen.

Given how poor the ride could be, why?
