Not necessary with the diesel.Do you regear?
I’m going to be buying my first JT (had an old YJ in college and loved it) and am making my shopping list. I love the look of Black Rhino product and plan to fit them into the Rubicon trim level. The offset I am finding for the 17x9.5” is -18. How much poke will that likely induce with MT Baja Boss AT’s at 315/70/17? Will I need a level on a stock Rubicon? If yes, how much to achieve and leave enough rake for when I add the Harker Camper Tent setup? What components will this offset likely strain first so I can plan to replace on a shortened timeline? Any other comments are welcome. My use case is daily driver, hunting rig, family trips to the mountains, boondocking’ish when traveling. Thank you.
what suspension do you have going on? Any other upgrades that affect that stance?I’m running Black Rhino Abrams 17x9.5 -18mm offset wheels with Nitto Ridge Grapplers 35x17x12.50 on my 2022 Rubicon. There is @3 and 1/2“ of poke beyond the Rubicon flares.![]()
Those stock Rubicon shocks will be toast by 40,000 they will start leaking like a seive change them thats my advise.I have a Rough Country 2 and 1/2“ spacer lift with bump stop and extender in the front and a 1 and 3/8” ICON spacer lift with bump stop and extender in the rear. I feel this even‘s the stance very well. I went with spacers because I wanted to keep the stock Rubicon shocks. To better the steering my Jeep mechanic installed a Metalcloak sector shaft brace, Metalcloak upper front control arms, Rock Jock 1 and 5/8” tie rod, Fox ATS steering stabilizer, and he adjusted the steering box and did an alignment. This made a huge difference in the steering with larger tires.
