I'm curious as to how long/if others have seen the current "accent color" trend that's going on in the Jeep world. Maybe it's just in my area, maybe not. Turn back the clock 4 years when I bought my JKU, I would occasionally see a Wrangler or two where a distinct decision was made to pick a bright color (what I have heard being called an "accent color") for mild exterior contrast, but in my area now, it's everywhere I look on Wranglers and Gladiators. And I'm not talking about the owners that pick a complimenting wheel color, or something like that; I'm talking about people that paint their radio antennas, window moldings (no kidding, that's the newest I have seen), wiper arms, grills, mirrors, door handles, hitch receiver, etc. a very contrasting color such as hot pink, bright purple, any neon color, etc. It's almost like a local trend where painting random things IS the mod, as opposed to aftermarket mods. Many times, their exterior and suspension is bone stock. As a matter of fact, I spoke with a lady looking to buy a JL who told me, "I already know what my accent color will be" even though she hadn't found one, nor did she know what color she was going to buy. Not bad mouthing or knocking it at all- everyone likes what they like and I am not here to judge, but I'm curious to see if other geographic areas are seeing the same thing. I almost feel like I didn't get a memo that went out..... I've seen it on a few random trucks too, but nowhere near the level of fellow Jeepers. Anyone else seeing the same? I've been involved in the hotrod/custom world for the last 20 years or so, and it hasn't happened there, yet. Just curious.

Only accent color around here on jeeps is brown, either sand, dirt or mud brown!

Haha! How did I know that was going to be the first response? I've tried to get pics, but they have all been elusive, as I can never catch one parked, and I'm typically the one driving. I really tried to get the black one with the lime green window moldings, but it was haulin' ass both times. Will try again this weekend...

Seems to be pretty common around here, especially with young people and women. (Not meant derisively, just an observation.)

I don’t see them every day, but they’re particularly active on Facebook in our local Jeep club.

There is a young lady on this Board who decided to do an accent color on her JT.

I would NEVER have thought the blue she chose would look good, but it sure as hell does.
Plus she turns her own wrenches and I don't see her doing the "look-at-me" crap.

I am embarrassed that I can't recall her name, I'm impressed with what she's done and not afraid to try things on her own.

Again, this isn't meant to portray anyone in a negative light, it just seemed to explode here locally, and one day it dawned on me how many I regularly see. Was curious to see if it's just a FL thing or not. That being said, the guy with the window trim paint is excessive IMO, and has probably already started cracking.... I'll give it to him, though, lime green on black does draw some attention. May wanna keep speeding to a minimum.

Okay, I’ll start then. And I don’t know if this is exactly what you’re talking about but it’s for me and not as a look at me. And please excuse my dust and dirt, I do play in the desert, and wasn’t expecting to have to run out and snap pics.
I just really hate black, especially on white, so here’s what I did for me. The shadows kind of throw it off but the colors on the exterior are the same as the interior.

We have one neighbor with a full fleet of such vehicles - a JK, a JT, and a JL all color matched… Painted black (either with bed liner or Kevlar) with neon green accents.

Don't notice in my neck of the woods, which is in the foothills of the mountains.

But "accent" colors have been around for quite some time. My cousin was going to paint certain parts on his Subaru white, and this was in 2000-2001 timeframe.

And neon green is my favorite accent color, goes back to my favorite motorcycle.

But it's being done to death everywhere so I haven't debadged my Rubi to replace with the green.
