Acela Trucks just launched a brand new 2-door "Comanche" fire truck!

I've been following this company that modifies the Gladiator into a 2-door cab-chassis with a 7-food bed and "up to" 3,000 lbs of payload. I saw it as a flatbed pickup at NTEA show. I signed up for their newsletter and today I got notice that they launched a type 6 wildland fire engine!

Now if they would just build a Willys version with the off road enhancements, along with the 3,000lbs payload and 7,000lbs towing capacity. Or just a plain ol Sport, with the basics that come standard. I can imagine removing the fold down sides and tailgate, then mounting a small Teardrop Camper. Or start with a cab chassis to build something very special.

Make mine as a 2 dr extended cab with 6.5'-7' bed and I'm in, I've never understood the quadcab
boom, Jeep never gave us a chance although the 'show truck' was always a 2 dr extended cab
since 2005. I think it was the bean counters using as much from the Wrangler as they could.
I owned 3 Dodge Dakotas, all extended cabs, one was a 4 x 4 also had a manual trans, two of them
were V6's and the last was a V8, drove all of them well over 100 K mi..
