Who cares about why it's not needed or how to clean the undercarriage? The OP asked about sealing off areas in the wheel wells.
Indeed, and I have to say you did some very nice work on yours. Looks very clean. Definitely the way to go if you're worried about this.

I use an oscillating lawn sprinkler under the Jeep. Park over it with the hose coming out the far end turn it on, then pull the hose a couple of feet every 10 minutes. I do one cycle on the left side, another on the right.

yeeeaaah, now I see. Sorry for the silly question, first-time Jeep owner here. I'm conditioned that newer vehicles have more/better engine compartment sealing, but that is definitely not the case here lol. Might need to setup a quick-access pressure washer system instead...
Soon you will ignore it and realize that many little issues are just a Jeep things 😂

Get ya one of those lawn tractor sprinklers. Then you can enjoy a cold one. While the lawn tractor slowly works its way under the jeep!
