What is involved in adding mopar aux switches in place of the tiny cubby hole ? Is it plug and play (doubting) or does it involve harness mods and pulling wire?

The switches are installed in the console, a wire harness has to be pulled through the firewall, and the computer has to be updated to tell it the switches are there.

It's just difficult enough that you may want to trade for a truck that has them factory installed.

Yeah that is what I thought, not worth the hassle but I do appreciate the rapid and honest response!
Cheers

There are a few other options that look close to OEM that are easy to install and fairly inexpensive. STech is one that comes to mind.

VOSWITCH is another
Yes, thank you for that. I have read about several other installing Voswitch, I just could think of the name. Both great options over the OEM install.

Mine was easy, bought the switches and paid the dealer 2 hours of labor to do the install.
