Picked up my '22 JT Diesel Rubicon last week and already have 900 miles on it. It's going to be my daily. All the dealers around me were marking up anywhere from $5k-$10k for the diesels. Found one up in Reno and was able to get a deposit on it while still at the factory and ended up just below invoice once all was done. On my way back home, took it out to Boca Resivor with 40 miles on it and had to make sure the 4x4 worked and to break it in ;) I'm going to try to make this a good daily driver but also be able to leave right after work to go camping and easily do the rubicon and the like.

I have a '18 JLUR that i am going to be swapping over a majority of the parts to the JT before i sell it. Planning on running a 3.5 lift from Metalcloak, already have the control arms, trackbars, bumpstomps and sway bar links that i am going to bring over from my JL and the springs just arrived. Going to run Fox 2.5s with the DSC. Going to use my 35's on 17 methods for now until they wear down more. I know that the 35's are probably going to look small with the 3.5 lift but better than buying 37's and spending another $2-$3k on tires that are still several months out. I swapped over my mopar steel bumper from my JL with a smittybilt 9.5k winch on it.

I ordered a GFC last week and already have the install date confirmed for July 15th. The GFC will be my starting point for the back of the JT and start building it out to be able to spend several days out camping and not having to worry about much. Have to plan a solar/battery setup for the back and figure out a layout for a kitchen and storage in the bed.

List of Mods:

Suspension:
3.5 Metalcloak (springs, control arms, trackbars)
Fox 2.5 w/DSC
Eventually get some air bumpstops (either fox, carbon, etc.)

Wheels:
35x12.50R17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W (for now, going to run 37's)
Method 316

Exterior:
Mopar Steel Bumper ( for now probably)
Smittybilt Gen3 9.5k winch
LP6 on front bumper
LP4 on pillars
Baja Designs chase light on GFC rear
Rock-Slide Eng. steps

Camping Equip: (Still planning this part out but once i get the GFC installed i will know which direction i want to go in)
Go Fast Camper
Bedrug
Battery/Solar setup
Kitchen and storage

I am sure there is some stuff that i forgot to list but the list is always growing and will keep this updated on the progress of the build.

Here is some pictures of the bumper swap. I already had a steel bumper on my JLUR so i just decided to swap the bumpers and sell the JLUR with the plastic bumper from the JT. Got a killer deal on the SB 9.5k winch with the syn line for my JLUR and got a factor55 flatlink on the end.

Here's one look on the stance. I'm fine with my 35" KM3s for now, on MC Gamechanger 3.5", doesn't look out of proportion at all. Will wheel on this before having to regear my 4.10s for 37"s in a year or so.

Nice looking Sarge Green. That was my first choice and had a deposit down on one but it has been MIA on the train from the Factory and the dealer wasn't getting any updates so got the Sting Gray one.

That doesn't look half bad. I've had these Falkens AT3W on my JLUR for about a year so they got a lot of tread left, but do have a couple nails that i had to plug. So i was thinking of just running them on my JT until they wear down more or the 37's are in stock somewhere around me. But glad the 35's don't look that out of proportion.

Hey man just so you know the metal cloak lift from your JL will not be the same for your gladiator. The rear end is completely different.

Yup, knew that. I am just taking off the the front setup (trackbar, control arms and sway bar links) which is the same for the JL and JT. Got diesel JT springs and rear arms and trackbar.

How did you get under invoice from a Reno dealer? They wouldn't even deal on one with me. The only reason they get my business is because they are the only local dealer to me. Guessing lithia? I ended up with 8% off invoice at SLC Jeep.

Yeah, it was Lithia Jeep in Reno. I had a deposit for a sarge green diesel back in Feb. and it was supposed to arrive later that month,. Apparently, the train car itself was damaged and had to be repaired and the JT was somewhere in Idaho with no movement for weeks. They had another diesel, the one i ended up getting, that i swapped the deposit over to. To my knowledge the sarge green one is still not there. They had a special going on for inventory at invoice when my JT arrived. So with that special and the delay and hassle on the original JT diesel, i was able to get it just below. But no where close to 8%. Still a whole lot better of a deal compared to the dealers around me in California, who were marking up the price like crazy.

Finally got time to get the metalcloak 3.5 lift and Fox 2.5 w/dsc installed over the weekend. Just waiting on the rear arms to be 100% complete.

Surprisingly didn't lift it as much I thought it would especially compared to when I lifted my JLUR with basically the same kit.

Made the trip up to Montana and got my GFC installed! Only took about 25 minutes for them to install it. Definitely worth the wait for them to build it, it makes setting up camp so much easier and now i have a secure bed cover that i can have all my gear in the bed and not worry about it. On the way back i was able to hit up Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Zion and Yosemite.

I’m curious how you’re liking the GFC so far. That’s the direction I’ve been looking, but I haven’t found anyone with real world reviews yet.

I really like it! I've taken it on a week long trip through Canada and just got back from Zion and love that i can just roll up to the campsite and pop open the camper and have everything all set up in less than 5 minutes. So much easier than the RTT setup i had before my JL.

I am still working on building out the interior on the bed portion so that i have all the storage and power setup. And i like that it is all connected unlike if i was to do a hard shell like a SmartCap and run an RTT.

What are the specs on the 316's you have? Do you have any other pictures? Thanks in advance. Thinking about getting 17x9 with -12 offset myself.
