Hey everyone,
I put the AEV DualSport suspension lift on my truck. I love it. The truck rides so smooth. Does anyone know if you can add a leveling kit to it? It seems to sit a little low in the front.

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn’t, the kit is engineered for the that amount of lift, the front is the most critical, if you wanted to level it I would lower the rear with your stock springs and a Daystar .75” spacer.

That was kind of my thought. Once i took my rack and tent off of the back i really noticed it.

It won’t hurt one little bit adding a 3/4” spacer in the front.

I have the AEV 2.5” DualSport suspension kit on the way and am in the same spot as OP. Would prefer it sit at least a little closer to level without compromising too much what the kit is engineered to do.

I have stock non steel bumpers and plan to keep it that way. Won’t be loading the bed with much gear very often and only an occasional moderate tow.

Will I be alright with a 3/4” Daystar spacer up front? Better to leave stock springs in the rear? Or go with the AEV kit as is and live with the rake?

AEV kits are designed around a full load out. The front isn’t low, the back is high in preparation for the weight of the expedition gear you’re going to break the bank on going back there. ?

Exactly...The AEV is designed to maintain the rake. Once you load it down or tow anything significant you will see the value in this lift beyond the amazing ride. I just can't stand the look of a truck whose rear end is sagging and nose is in the air while using it as a truck. I did not want to be that guy :)

For what it's worth I installed the AEV dualsport lift with 3" high capacity springs. I have a full height bedrack, a full size iKamper, and maybe another 1.5-2k lbs in overlanding gear. Even fully loaded up I still have the rake. I also have pulled a trailer that is around 9,000 lbs while my JT was completely loaded with overlanding gear and I still have the rake. I'm not sure what the capacity of the springs are, but nothing I have put on it so far has made a dent. I wish that I had put in a 1" spacer up front while I had everything pulled apart because at this point I don't think it would have made any difference with the HC springs.

I know this is an old thread, hoping for some advice. Thanks for any info.

About to have the local shop put on the AEV 3” lift on with HC springs in anticipation of ~500# of accessories in the back on my ‘23 JTR plus adding a winch in the front.

Can I/should I have them put a 1” spacer in front to make it close to level while it’s all apart? Will this mess with the geometry?

No towing, won’t have more than ~ 500# in the bed, would prefer it to sit level.

Thanks for any wisdom!

I have the 2.5" dual sport lift with diesel springs. I had 1" teraflex spacers installed on the front to help with the rake. It has a slight rake with the back unloaded and sits pretty darn level with my OVS tent on the back and bed loaded down. Ride is no different. Worked for me.

I just installed the AEV 2.5" dualsport kit and decided last minute to do the opposite of y'all and throw on 3/4" daystar rear spacers I had from a previous project to ensure I have rake for when I load up. haha...

I did put TeraFlex isolators up front and they theoretically add 1/2" of lift. So I guess I have 1/2" spacer up front and 3/4" spacer in the rear.

I have a whiteline (compare to Hellwig) rear sway bar ready to install. I will try it on the softest setting to start and evaluate and adjust on the next fully loaded camping trip.

RTT, canopy, Hi-Lift, molle panels, are probably close to 400lbs on the rear "unloaded." Drives great right now, no sway bar strictly necessary. Probably another 200-300lbs with the camping gear.

I could probably have gone with the 3" HC springs, but didn't want to be oversprung. My backup plan was to add AirLift airbags if it was too soft in the rear, but decided to try the 3/4" spacer first.

Measured at the front and rear ends of the rock slider, it's around 1.75" of rake, but visually looks even enough to me to not worry about too much rake "unloaded." Should sit nice and level once fully loaded, which is the ultimate goal.
