Aftermarket lockers for Overland

2020 Jeep Gladiator Overland 6-speed. 2004 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4x4, gave to daughter w/350K miles

Quadratec is offering a combination LSD/locker by Auburn that is described as: "for 71-21 Jeep Vehicles with Dana 44 Axle with 3.73 & Numerically Lower Gear Ratio & 30-Splines".

So the JT Overland has Dana 44 axles, 3.73 gears, and is between 1971 and 2021. Hits 3 out of 4.

Quadratec answered my inquiry to say these diffs will not fit the Overland. So to some of you Jeep experts, is it the 30 splines that is the issue? So how many splines does the Overland have (so I can keep looking) ?

the dana 44s are 32 spline in the JT but with Brake lock differential i dont see a need for locker unless you are doing some serious rock climbing or offroading .

The Auburn ECTED LSD locker is COOL. I wish the E-Lockers in the Rubicon had LSD functionality, it's a bit aggravating to have a single legged pickup.

The bummer with Auburn cone clutches is they didn't USED to be rebuildable. A buddy of mine had a 63 Chrysler Imperial and it really needed the clutch pack replaced, but it was a complete swap not a rebuild.

I rebuilt both 7.5 and 8.8 Ford Trak-Lok diffs before switching to Eaton TruTrac Torsen LSD's. My YJ's Trak-Lok D35 went bye-bye for a TrueTrac with no stop at a clutch pack replacement. At one point Eaton had a TrueTrac with an electric locker function, but they canned that whole product line.

We use our rear locker in 2Hi all the time off pavement. Having power cut and brakes applied to prevent wheelspin is a pain in the ass.
