Contact the company - they'll tell you........
go to
https://www.airliftcompany.com/workshop/air-lift-1000-universal-air-spring-kit/
for some info on universal kits based on inside spring diameter and height
Hmmm, according to a couple people in the thread, speaking directly Airlift is not helpful at all as their reps do not seem to have good information on what is actually in their kits. One guy a few posts back ended up buying 3 diff kits going off of their various recommendations and none of it seemed to work well...so not sure I want to get into a back and forth with them at this point.

This forum has quite a few people using airbags with the Mopar lift, and we likely have more knowledge here on the matter than airlift themselves. Id prefer to get some clear first hand info on what people here have done that appears to work the best.

Interesting.

Yeah, I don't think it was this thread, but I DID see another person speak of the spacers they used, still another mentioned taller bags that worked for them - now to just get them to see your request.

So I've read this thread through twice and am still unsure of which option is the better one for those of us with the Mopar 2in lift.

It seems like there's three different paths people are taking with these airlift bags:

1) Order the RAM 1500 bags and use them together with the spacers from the Gladiator kit.

2) Get the Gladiator kit and figure out some way to get thicker spacers to take up the space created by the lift.

3) Get the Gladiator kit and run it by itself as-is.

Can anyone clarify which seems to be working the best, or at least which option worked for them?

And for those running the Gladiator kit with a thicker spacer (option #2), what are you using as the thicker spacer?

Thanks!
Curious of the same thing, but in regards to the Firestone bags. I wanted to know if anyone had the model number of the Ram kit they used. I'm on a 2.5" Clayton lift, so I'm thinking I may need some sort of spacer.

You might be right, I've read several threads on this and some of this could have been in another thread, haha. I know that there were a couple people at least in this one who have done it, so hoping they all see this eventually and share some thoughts on how their choice has been working out!

Yeah, def interested in the Firestone bags also if they have an option that would work well with a lift!

I think there's 2 model numbers for the Ram bags (4130 & 4135, I think). Not sure the difference between the two. I'll try to call earlier, and see if they have any information on the two. The bags mentioned before look awesome, and I kind of like how they don't go inside the coils. But $300 is a little more than I was looking to spend right now. But you know what they say, "You get what you pay for"..

I'm running the Clayton 2.5 Overland kit as well and am definitely watching this post closely.

The Clayton kit is not bad at all, but when I'm fully loaded (no trailer) it sags a little bit and drives me nuts. And because I'm always unloading and loading the jeep, I want something I can adjust fairly easily and airbags seem the way to go.

Same here. My trailer only weighs 2K#, but it has a good bit of tongue weight. I love the Clayton springs, but I'd like more stability when towing. I reached out to Steve at Timber Grove and he got back to me right away regarding their setup. I'm going to get him some measurements as soon as I get home, and he seems to think his kit will work with the lift. I like their kit, because it had the bags more outboard on the axle, resulting in more stability. I'll let you know what he says as soon as I get him the measurements.

So far it seems like nobody in this thread who actually got one of the kits and used it with the Mopar lift feels like coming back and sharing what they used and how it's been working.

Im considering just buying both the RAM and Gladiator kits and just trying different combos until it seems like its working well.

I'm getting a GFC camper in a few weeks and with that installed plus all of our gear and 2 bikes loaded for trips, there will def be some sag so just looking to correct that a bit - so not towing like 8,000lbs or anything like that.

I also considered just getting stiffer springs since the camper will be on the jeep permanently, but I have not been able to find a clear answer regarding good options for stiffer rear springs that can be swapped into the Mopar lift. I'd prefer to keep the shocks and everything and just get stiffer rear springs, just not sure if that's possible or which springs might be a good match. Plus, the camper by itself is only about 250lbs, so without all the other gear loaded, I'm not sure sag correction will really be needed.

Yeah, not sure either. I towed my buddy's '69 Pontiac from PA to GA, and I wish I would have had a little extra support in the rear for that trip. The Clayton springs are excellent for what they are, and I'm simply trying to make the truck even more capable than it already is.

Sounds good man, looking forward to hearing more about it!

I've thought about stiffer springs but my ride is prefect when I'm not weighted down with all the overlanding crap I bring that I don't want to make my jeep even stiffer. I think the airbags are the way to go when you weight isn't constant like a trailer or going on an overland trip.

Grizzley and Bear Overland have been using air bags for a few years now on their Land Rover Defender 130 and 4 Wheel Camper pop up. They will remove their camper pretty often, and having the airbags makes it easier to adjust their ride quality depending on whether they have all that weight. And they started in France and drove to Australia, so that's a pretty good field test of an airbag system. I highly suggest checking out their capabilities with their rig on youtube.

Great info, thanks! I'll def check their channel out, great to hear that the bags can stand up to some actual use beyond grocery getting, haha.

I'm definitely thinking the bags are the way to go, just need to figure out which kit combo works best for the Mopar 2in lift.
