As most of you know, unless you have the top of the line stereo option with amp and sub; Jeeps speakers are terrible. I like my tunes and with top and doors off, the stock speakers are useless at speed. I had upgrade my JK with a great 10 speaker system from KIS and Kicker upgrades up front, but nothing is really available for our Gladiators. I ordered the Alpine SPV-65 upgrade from Quadratech - huge difference and definitely worth the investment off $499. I also got a $50 gift card credit. The stock speakers in the sound bar were made in Mexico garbage; a 2” tweeter with a 4” speaker that they use for a base. Tiny magnets etc versus the Quadratech upgrade; a 6.5 woofer with 1” tweeter. Removing the old stuff was piece if cake - screws and disconnecting. The challenge came with the cutting required to allow the new speaker assembly to fit. They included a hard plastic template which was perfect. The tough part was the cutting as there is very limited back space and I was laying on my back in the back seat cutting upward as the plastic bits filled my face. It would have been much easier with sound bar out of truck but that’s a whole additional task. I managed to use a small 10” single fine saw blade but it wasn’t easy - lots a patience. Second speaker was easier as I learned from the first. Anyway, they include batting to stuff in the empty space and then it’s just plug in the entire assembly and use the 4 extended screws they include to finish up. Entire time taken was about 2 hours taking my time. Sound is immediately better at volume with a lot less distortion. If you are on a budget, I’d highly recommend as an upgrade. If you already have the upgraded sound, theses are not compatible. I will likely replace the front and knee speakers with the kickers from MOPAR to enhance even further.
