Anyone know of a work around to open/close latches from inside of bed?
Sort of - https://www.canopylocks.com.au/alu-cab.html

They make a power lock system with adapters and brackets for many different canopy lock systems. Not too expensive, really, considering AUD vs USD. Not only would this give you power lock access from the inside, but there's a manual unlatch option that physically presses the latch up and out from inside

(I bought these, got halfway thru installing and had to stop. They didn't line up and work perfect at first, need to do some precise adjustment on plastic contact areas with a file or dremel. I got stalled there and haven't gotten back to it)

It sounds like the back plate is not big enough for the rail system you have. Have you tried the back plate on a stock setup to see if it fits?
I don't have stock jeep gladiator rail system. I bought built right trail system, but they are wider than jeep ones. I was table put back plate exactly at top of the rail system, but it does not fit exactly in the middle like stock ones.

I ended up ordering the Builtright. They gave me a code for free shipping so I took it. I got a quote from off-road alliance they gave me like 5 or 10 bucks off or something, but then there shipping was like 60 bucks, I was like get outta here lol that’s insane.
Hey jglad15
Do you have some pictures and instructions of the canopy install. I have built right industries trail rail as well, but I see canopy back plate does not fit properly as they are built right rails are wider than oem.

Hey Clweed
I have bought alu cab and have the built right trail rail system, I see the buil right trail system are a little wider then stock, can you please let me know how did you install the canopy because the current back plates for alu cab does not fit in properly. Any picture of the clamps installed and some steps will be really helpful.
Use these from Lowe’s or Home Depot and the matching bolts, the rails are unistrut

You’ll have to find something that works or make it. Alu-cab recommends the mopar rails for this reason. For those of us that don’t have mopar it’s tough to know… I grabbed a set of the teraflex bed rails and works well with AC‘s brackets.

You could use T-nuts to grab more of the top and bottom of the rail, but probably only can get one bolt per alucab bracket. These were $20 bucks and fit mine but you might want to measure first.

I ended up returning the built right rails and bought the mopar rails for this exact issue. Didn’t feel like getting the t nuts or whatever. I just wanted it to work.

Has anyone found MOLLE panels that work well with the M8 T-track on the inside top of the canopy? I mounted Maxtrax on the right and would like to set up molle running front to back on the left. Haven’t really found the sizing I’m looking for.

Need y'all help

So, I purchased my Alu-cab Explorer canopy from a person from San Antonio. I'm the 3rd owner.
When I got it, he show me that the 1st owner installed some rivet nuts on the side windows but remove before selling it.

Our guess was, that he got like a molle panel set-up? Both windows have the same nut pattern.
Do y'all know a molle panel that have this kind of pattern?

This tread has answered a lot of questions for me. Just started looking at caps/toppers/canopy options and was curious if the positive pressure vent worked as advertised and did you add any weather stripping around the tailgate? I have a Bestop softopper and it's becoming annoying with the amount of dust it let's in as well as the zippered windows are not very practical in my opinion. Thanks!

I added weather striping to the tailgate, though I am not sure it was needed. I have had less dust in the canopy than I did in my canopy camper, which did not have a negative vent.
My biggest issue with the canopy is water leaks that I can not track.

Same issue - random water leaks from time to time. I think it might be a rivet that isn't sealed all the way. But I put a 3.1 tent over the canopy and it stopped water from coming in.

I would also get weather stripping off amazon it was like $30 or something like that. Worth it
