Did you guys get the side windows? I have dogs that ride in the back when weather permits (cooler than 65° outside) for a few miles at a time and thought it would be beneficial for a little air flow.

I have the windows for the same reason. It has been too hot to try it yet. Looking forward to the fall.

I have had ours now for a week, the fit and finish is excellent. CB Adventure Supply in Fort Worth, TX did an awesome job on the install. Front Runner Slim line II racks installed to mount my awning and shower cube go on next and cupboards are going to be ordered to start the interior build out.

I've had the canopy for a year or two now. I don't have dogs so rarely use the side windows. But the few times I've used them, the weather stripping keeps falling off. I have not tried glueing it back in, since I don't use them much. I would imagine you can get a good amount of airflow on the move with both windows. But I would not leave the dog in there with the summer heat.

edit: weird, some how i managed to leave out the word "not" twice. "have not tried glueing..." and "would not leave...".

Yeah, our dogs ride in the cab. I would just transport them back there in the circumstance where it's cool outside and only for a few miles. Not on long road trips.

I didn't get the side windows because I'm hard on stuff and would have probably scratched them to pieces. However, if I had my dog still I would have gotten side windows for air, no question.

@wrangler311 Looks good. What sliders are you using?
I added weather striping to the tailgate, though I am not sure it was needed. I have had less dust in the canopy than I did in my canopy camper, which did not have a negative vent.
My biggest issue with the canopy is water leaks that I can not track.
Where are you finding the water? I discovered that I had water intrusion from the middle of the bed that would travel to the front and then pool at the head of the bed. With a little persistence and a combination of flex seal tape, weather stripping and butyl tape and covering up every possible entry point in the bed including along the bed cap it finally did the trick. No more water inside nor dust for that matter.

In the first image, it could be coming in the window, but it was fully closed. It does not usually get wet there. The second photo is the typical issue. It is not coming in through a some window, but maybe a rivet. The slotted track where the canopy connects to the bed will be filled with water, and then leak out through the openings for bolts.

Truck looks fantastic! Good choice on the Saltas.

The age old question... what lift and tire combo are you running?

I love how you did your rack on top of the canopy and cab. I've been looking at getting one as well. Which rack did you get from Front Runner? What size? What mounting legs? I've been looking at those and the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform. How do you like the Front Runner rack?? Can't find any info on mounting a Rhino Rack, but everyone says to do the Front Runner ones instead.

Thank you,
We used the front runner Slim line II rack for the Tacoma crew cab as this is what Front runner said would fit. Frontrunner said they were the same size, well I had to cut the rack down and remove one slat. Frontrunner customer service reached out to me and said they made a mistake on the rack and were send me the correct size side rails overnight. The rack on the cab is made for the JT so it fits well, all in all I am happy with them so far, give yourself time to put all the parts together. I had the Rhino rack on my JK and loved it, made very well. I did not want to drill though the top on my JT so I went with the Front runner rack as it mounts to the rain rails. I am told the Rhino rack will fit the Contour cap with the Alu-Cab legs but I never really looked into that as I wanted the racks to match.

Frontrunner JT rack Part # SKU: KRJG009T
Frontrunner Tacoma Part # SKU: KRCA095T - This I had to cut down, to long!
Frontrunner Side rails Part # SKU: RRSP8SL3 - These are the rails they said to use

I recently got my contour canopy installed and I got the Alucab load bars as well. I have an OVS 270 awning I’m going to install with the OVS awning brackets. Anyone do the same? Looking for advice on how others have done it or any lessons learned.
