I've been trying out Android Auto adapters that work with the uconnect full screen. I've tried several. This is the best plug and Play that I have found compatible with the Jeep. Gladiator that gives you full screen capabilities

What do you mean full screen capability? My Android Auto looks and works the same whether plugged in or through an wireless adapter...

Few of the adapters that I had purchased and reviewed prior to receiving this one we're on a carplay platform and minimize the screen on my head unit. This one adapted right to Android auto and not to carplay first.

Gotya.

Is there any lag in controls?
Does your phone immediately stop playing if you shut the truck off? All the adapters I've used had lag and books or pods would keep playing or like 10-20 seconds after shutting the truck off.

The built in wireless android for the newer Jeeps works well, EXCEPT for the fact that it hijacks the phone's wifi connection. That's probably not an issue for most people, most of the time. But out here in the boonies, we do not have cellular coverage, but we do have wifi that covers a large area around the house, including where we park. That used to work fine on the older Jeeps without wireless AA, the phone/android auto would use the house wifi to lookup and route navigation, etc. But now, since it has hijacked the phones wifi connection to make the wireless phone-Jeep connection, there is no connection to the outside word once the phone connects to the Jeep. This is especially annoying when the wife has to go into an office hours away and has to leave at o'dark:30 am and wants to share her waze mapping so I can follow along as she drives dark, lonely back roads.

I have the original version of this adapter in my '23 Wrangler and it has worked flawlessly for a few years now.

Are you talking about the split screen functionality?

This is just a feature of Android Auto and you can change it to full screen at anytime. On mine I just touch the map and it changes to full screen.

I have the Ottocast and it works great. My only complaint is that it doesn't shut of because if my truck is parked within range of my Bluetooth. My phone will pick it up at home and it's annoying that it connects to Bluetooth and wifi. I just unplug it when I get home.

There's an initial about 5 or 6 second lag when you start the vehicle, but it does shut off with the ignition. Where even though the USB is alive, it still shuts down. And it's also not picking up like the others were when I was not in my vehicle. It works great with my pixel phone. And I also get full screen where it was leaving a large edge all the way around the others because they were carplay/ Android auto

No I understand the split screen but what it was leaving is a large border all the way around my screen in the other units. This one adapts to full screen split or not.

I've come across the same issue in the past. What I found out for mine was that the adapter was in carplay mode instead android auto. When I switched the mode on the adapter, I got full screen.

Annoyed me heck out of me at first. :CWL:

Yeah I tried five different adapters. This one finally is working flawlessly. The thing I like about it it's got a button for on and off. So if I want to turn it off I can just hit the button when I want to connect. I just hit the button. I don't have to unplug it any longer to reset. Far so good. The only thing I wish is the screen was larger on my head unit. I'm probably going to have to go with a stinger someday
