First time Jeep Gladiator owner. I have a 2025, can I simply replace the main battery or do I have to bring it somewhere because some type of programming must be done when I change it?

Fine except in hot or cold climates. What’s the general consensus about lithium batteries? Like a set of main and aux batteries that have the exact numbers needed compared with AGM or even wet batteries? The lithium main battery will probably weigh less than an AGM aux sized battery. Plus most have 8 year warranty, a couple have 11 years! Like Dakota.
I'd never buy batteries from the dealership anyway - converting or not, keeping the aux battery or not. That's one of the biggest gouges of any.I’m now looking into removal of the aux battery, especially if I go lithium. For the dealers price of two off the shelves AGM OEM batteries I can get a very nice single Dakota lithium battery.
That’s exactly what I’m thinking, to get the biggest capacity lithium battery to replace both at the same combined amp/hrs or ? Do I compare?I'd never buy batteries from the dealership anyway - converting or not, keeping the aux battery or not. That's one of the biggest gouges of any.
IF I was doing what you are thinking - I'd get the largest capacity I could, to at least match the capacity of the two together (helps handle the parasitic load if it's sitting any length of time)
From what I have seen, the lithium batteries have on board electronics that gateway between the battery and the vehicle charging to regulate the lithium battery charging. Far as the vehicle is concern, it is just charging a normal battery. How does the stock charging system perform with lithium batteries?

"Ideally" you'd want to get the same combined capacity to handle the parasitic loads, but the lithium being what it is, should handle it better anyway. That’s exactly what I’m thinking, to get the biggest capacity lithium battery to replace both at the same combined amp/hrs or ? Do I compare?
Don't forget fuse F42.Install a new H7 AGM Battery, disconnect neg aux battery cable tape it off and call it done!! You’ll no longer have trouble.
Use the button to shut off ESS and don’t worry if you forget your new battery can take ot!!
Go Jeep!!!
