I didn't hear anything other than the idle slow down . Clean it up change the oil and filter . ( me personally I would have done it in their lot ,Not Joking) then ease it in for a few miles then moderate RPms for awhile then drive normal. Stay under 55 for a day or so. And dont do WOT for a few hundred miles. After that run as normal and Flog that thing. Run RPMS up into the 4 grand category.
Dude I do every day
Maybe your speakers are not that great, comes across quite well at 55s on my speakers and to my ears, and obviously to the dealer as well as they took it in for tear down. There is no idle down in that video, it is already idling. New diagnosis from the dealer is continued valve train problems, exhaust and intake cam phasers. Seven to ten days to get parts. ETA now about two more weeks. Interesting, not throwing codes, sounds different than bad phasers I have heard in the past. The tick also does not come and go, once it starts, which is shortly after start-up, it remains.

You can trigger the phasers with an app like JSCAN - for cleaning or just for seeing if they cycle.

Thanks for the info, but it is in the dealers hands at this point. The new tick sounds follower to me. When I listened with my stethoscope, I got the strongest tap right over cylinder one intake just like I did on the first go round. There was no distinct noise over the phasers. Phasers are more of a rattle and generally come and go, plus you often throw codes. I think the dealer might be breaking out the parts cannon. Unfortunately for me it takes them along time to reload the cannon and blast them into the vehicle.

Yeah, that sounds right.

Mixed blessing, I guess - takes forever, but at least they aren't shrugging it off?

That new clatter is pretty atrocious. Makes me wonder if the oil galley plug bolts on the front of the cylinder head backed out or were not tightened?

Dealerships have their processes, especially for warranty. Replace parts, don't look for a reason.
I wonder if at least some of the failures could have a cause to be found IF someone spent some real time diagnosing, looking for possible problems.

That was worth saying twice. 😆
There was a forum problem going on a little while ago.

My dealer does the diagnoses of what’s wrong, i.e. worn cam, blown head gasket, or whatever and sends the part to Chrysler to find why it happened. That covers them on the warranty coverage.

I would like to make recommendations to the dealership, but they really have no interest in anything I say.

There's a forum problem again. There's a post from JT guy three times in the tk video thread. Jay needs to know, if he doesn't already

Mixed results here. Sometimes they actually listen with interest, other times, not so much..........
Last time, my sales guy stepped in and got some action. Seems the sales people have some pull here

There's an echo in here!

It was down for a while last night.
Poor Jay. I've been through those forum upgrade issues before.
The AMC forum was hit hard by AI bots a month ago hammering it grabbing info. Brought the server to its knees but the techs found a way to block the AI bots.

I reminded their sales manager what we've spent in the last ten years....and my sales guy works hard for his customers.
