Factory Gorilla glass?

HGP has a 2 yr warranty, is why I ask. I've had hard hits on mine in the last 10 months, not a scratch.
Yes factory, I took it to the dealer today for warranty and they told me to come back on Monday. Apparently the service manager need to use “special equipment” to analyze the chip.

If anyone is interested, replacing the windshield through SafeLite in California with a MOPAR replacement is $692.58. I could have saved $105 by going with a "generic" windshield over the MOPAR one, but wanted to keep it real (and I like the little Jeep graphic crawling up the side of the windshield)

The good news is, insurance does cover it. The bad news is, I haven't met my $500 deductible this year, so it's costing me $500. Just like last year in August when I replaced it.

I need to start breaking the windshield earlier in the year so I feel like the deductible is worth it. :giggle:

I'm on my 5th Jeep since 1999. My 99 TJ had 201K when I sold it with the original windshield. I'm now over 350K and never had a serious ding and never a crack until a month ago on my Gladiator. it had 53K on it and now I have another ding that cracking. So I guess I'm lucky. Just got on the waiting list for the Gorilla glass as I have ACC. But will check on the OEM also.

Just caught another rock on the freeway, small chip in the bottom left of the windshield.

Unbelievable.

This one may be small enough to get filled so I don’t need to get another windshield.

Or maybe I just get another whole new windshield since I’ve already met my deductible for the year and it won’t cost me anything…

Sure am glad SC has free windshields
I’ve used my free glass this year once already. I told safelite I wanted gorilla glass, had to call two times to make sure they ordered it but finally got it. I’d recommend it for sure.

Time to see if the Gorilla Glass warranty is honored. Less than 1500 mi.

It appears to be a biaxial flexure crack per the Mopar site. No quarter to 3" diameter impact per the warranty, just a long crack running from a central point.

I'm not new to Jeep windshield replacememt having multiple Wranglers and XJs over the years, but I was really hoping not to make a claim in less than a month.

Would like to know how this worked out for you? I’ve approached Mopar on this and they’ll only warranty a new windshield installed after factory, not the factory upgraded Gorilla Glass.
Makes absolutely no sense other than Mopar trying to get out of honouring it, knowing no one in their right mind would pay double the cost of a new windshield for 1 chip repair.
