Congrats on the new ride! Rams are awesome (partial, used to have one ?)

Some people need a full sized truck, and that is ok! For me the mid sized Gladiator is perfect. I also haven’t had any of the issues you mentioned. 0 issues so far at 7k+ miles (knocking on wood)

Congratulations on your new choice for towing and the rest, I wouldn't want to be towing a travel trailer 24 ft or more with my Max-Tow much less pushing it close to max load.

I've towed boats with 1/2 ton full size trucks and have been very disappointed. Can't imagine a 1/4 ton or midsize Jeep truck used for towing.
Isnt the Gladiator technically half ton also? The payload and towing (max tow) capacity is in line with my F150...

As someone who works out of a full size half ton with occasional towing, and now moving into a mid-size gladiator, I read these posts with a little trepidation.

Physics always wins... Ram long bed 3500 dually diesel... you will never ever complain about towing the Gladiator and the 27 footer again.

You did! I’ve got front and rear bumpers with kid catcher, Quadratec/Weathertech front floor liners, seat risers, cowl light mounts w/ led lights, flush mount backup lights(never used),seat brackets that move the driver seat further back. Some other stuff too but drawing a blank.

Just keep the old full-size if you have room? I'm not getting a JT thinking it will be able to replace what a 1/2 ton can do, at all. I'm getting it because of all the things my 1/2 ton can't do. I figure I can rent a trailer if the bed is too small, and I can rent a 3/4 ton if I ever really need it. I'd keep my old 1/2 ton around forever if I had the room.

I may have to at least in the interim though I'm not keen on the idea. The plan is to replace, not suppliment. I can always have equipment delivered.
A small trailer is in the works but that may be counterproductive to the goal of fuel economy offsetting some vehicle cost (11mpg F150 to 24mpg Diesel Gladiator) if it is to be a regular necessary fixture.

I think the newest generation of the Rams is the best. I've had two 1500's in the past. The most reliable trucks I've ever owned.

Hope you love your new truck, but you traded in one SWEEEEET Rubi. Whoever bought that one definitely benefited from all the work you put into it.
