If you have a DVC sub with 2ohm voice coils, he's right. That sub can be 1 ohm or 4 ohm. To get to a 2ohm load with a DVC sub, you'll need 4ohm voice coils.

wow man. thank you so much. you've put my mind so much more at ease. If you don't mind, is going with the 4 ohm version of the CompR probably my best route? I have a vented 1.3 cu ft box, which falls within those specs, and just want clean but loud bass.

Tough to say what your "best route" will be. It all depends on your personal preference in sound. I tend to only use sealed enclosures. You could likely get 2 of the 48CWRT102 in the same size sealed box. 2 of the 2 ohm DVC subs can get you to 2 ohms total.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram that show how a AP4-CH41 connects into Gladiator with premium sound system to run dash speakers and sub with Alpine amp and amp four channel amp to run knee and sound bar? Where does the new amp connect into existing speaker wires?
