I have a 2021 Gladiator Sport S "Max Tow". According to the build sheet, I have:

DANA M210 WIDE FRONT AXLE
4.10 REAR AXLE RATIO
DANA M220 WIDE REAR AXLE
ANTI-SPIN DIFFERENTIAL REAR AXLE

This is not trac-lock, correct? I have seen other's build sheets which would read "Track-Lok Anti-Spin Rear Differential" if they had it.

Just checking.. Or to be sure should I jack it up?

I doubt Jeep would keep different versions of a limited-slip around for the same vehicle, it's probably a track-lok and the details for the max-tow package just give a generalized name for it.

Just my educated guess

It's a trac-lok. Since it comes standard now with the Max-Tow and not an option, the build sheet just lists it as "limited slip".

I think you’re confusing trac lock (limited slip) with E lock that is available in Mojave and Rubicon

So, at least on the 2022's.. On the Jeep site.. All Max Tow packages come w/ "Trac-Lok® Anti-Spin Rear Differential". Now when you run the VIN, does that come back as "ANTI-SPIN DIFFERENTIAL REAR AXLE"?

I think they're referring to the same thing, just not sure.

I am about to do some regearing and other things and just wanted to be 100% certain about what is on there before researching parts & ordering them..

open, electric, and trac-loc are the only normal factory options. You'll have one of the 3.

I have a 21 Willy's, and I have what I believe is the limited slip differential / clutch pack / LSD / "trac lok"

I'm nearly certain from looking into it, that all of the above terms refer to the same thing on our jeeps. The current version of "limited slip" "posi" from back in the day. Imo really good for winter/daily driver stuff, passable for occasional trails, lockers are better for trail rigs.

I'm old enough to forget how to link threads but here's one that may help.

Yes it's the same thing. There is only one factory LSD and it's the trac-lok

I recently had my 3:73s swapped out for 4:10 gears(Dana 44 axles) and my mechanic informed me that my Gladiator's rear differential had a TrueTrac installed. That surprised me because my window sticker states "Trac–Lok® Anti–Spin Rear Differential". Not that I would doubt my mechanic, he has been doing this type of work for over 30 years. I asked him if the rear end needed a friction modifier fluid added and he stated it did not require it.

I did find a link at Curry that provides a very good description of the 3 differential lockers. Link is below.

The factory would not install Eaton-Detroit parts in a Dana axle. Only another shop would.
Jeep isn't installing helical (Torsen - torque sensing) differentials

So unless someone before you took it to a performance shop and had that installed, that guy is wrong.

Thanks for the reply and the information. My mechanic's assistant had pointed out to him if someone else had installed the locking unit. At this point I will ask my mechanic if indeed it is an Eaton or not. I will let you know the outcome of that conversation.

Your are correct, it is a Trac-Lock differential. Just got off the phone with my mechanic and either I did not hear him correctly or he had misspoke. Either wanted to confirm your comment. Thanks for setting me straight. I will be deleting that information as I don't want to add any misinformation to this forum.

That they are for sure! This is our 5th Jeep since 1985, which was a red CJ-7, soft top and doors, later found red used doors(great condition!), hard top and added AC! The Gladiator is the best riding Jeep we have ever owned! Thanks again for knowledge, much appreciated!
