Any luck with scrapyards ?

Has anyone ever had any luck pulling good stuff out of scrap yards? I’ve got two in pretty close proximity to me but I can’t tell if they have any gladiators or jeeps in general.

I’m also not terribly sure how to tell if something is directly compatible.

If its a up to date location, you should be able to search their website for available vehicles and removed parts.

I've been in pretty much every self service junkyard east of the Mississippi, including a bunch in Canada.

It's a primary focus of my schmedium YouTube channel I do for fun.

As a general rule, anything within 5 years old is going to go to the dismantler side, get bagged and tagged and listed on Car-part or the like.

6-10 is a mixed bag, depending on popularity, then after 10, it has little dismantle value and hits the cheaper self serve yards or sides of the big yards.

i rarely see JL/JK's, and they're always missing drivetrain.

I expect it'll be 2035 or so before I see a Gladiator in one.

I did a quick search via the link I posted, and there are some Gladiators out there. Just depends on where you are and what you're looking for.
Search for some common part, and you'll see pictures of the wrecked vehicles. That'll give you some idea of what other parts might be available from the same wreck. Front end destroyed? Cab and back may be OK. Like that.

Rock auto is pretty good at telling you what other models use the same part.

If you click on a part #, it pulls up other models it fits.

Rear lower arms for example, it shows they fit the Gladiator and Ram.

There is a Jeep only salvage company in Lagrange, IN they have tons of Gladiator parts and several gassers that had fires in the battery area. lol
