No regrets. I get to build it the way I want. If I bought a rubi I would have kept it as is, but with the max tow I get the tow capability with the build I want.

The only Punk'n Gladiator that I could find that didn't have black fenders and top was the Rubicon, The Rubicon also had a couple of other options I wanted. It also had some option I didn't need.
Since Punk'n was was discontinued I ended up with the Rubicon. No regrets.

I got my rubicon well optioned for what I wanted ($55,500 MSRP) for $46,000 pre-TTL. All of the Max-tows I could find were not much below that if at all (comparably configured). Didn’t seem worth it to go with a lower trim for not much savings. Maybe I found a rare deal though.

Nope - no regrets at all. Like many others, I had a Wrangler Rubicon before and found out that on the trails we run really never needed the lockers and the E-swaybar wasn't really that great. All I knew I really wanted with the JT was the HD axles and 4.10 gears from factory. Max Tow was a much cheaper way to get what I needed. I got my 2021 Sport S Max Tow (cold weather package, 8.4 screen, Alpine sound, hard top) for $38,500. ???

Then added:
Mopar HD Rock Rails/Step ($250 Used)
Rubicon Fenders (Halogen) ($600 using a 15% off coupon from dealer)
Access LIterider tonneau cover ($300 amazon)
DeeZee bedmat ($100 amazon)
17" wheels and 35" tires ($2500 Discount Tire)
Tazer Lite ($220 Quadratec)

Total: ~$42,500. Still way less than any Rubicon I've seen.

Even future plans should keep me under a Rubicon. (~$44,300)
Winch front bumper (already have a winch from previous jeeps) (~$600)
AUX switches (~$600)
Some sort of low profile rail system that doesn't exist yet (might have to make my own)(~$600)

no regrets here. If I were to shop for JL, it would be a rubicon. I even got the max tow without oem lsd as all the oem lsd’s I’ve had, had their spider gears chipped when removed for regearing. I’d rather go aftermarket.

I’m not regretting a Rubicon one iota and I haven’t even taken delivery of my Freedom Edition. I’m a veteran so I look at it like any piece of gear that is mine, and within regs. I can start with the base, take off what I don’t need and add what I do in order for it to operate to my specifications. I can add fox struts and shocks, electronic sway control and anything else if I truly want it. But I built what what I want, aside from a lift, Black Rhino Wheels and 35’s. I’ll add lights that I need and want, but the Sport Freedom Edition with Max Tow is pretty much built how I want and need to fit my specifications of what I want in a Jeep or Truck.

You gonna add fox struts? and an electronic sway control?
I want to see your build posting when you do please!

Please reread what I typed, I was being hypothetical. I am having my JT built how I want from the factory aside from lights, lift and wheels, maybe the ARB compressor and a Teraflex Falcon 2.2.

One regret with the Rubicon.......these black plastic fenders instead of body colored. They are impossible to get and keep clean.

Black fenders look good for longer when sliding through brush . We order them that way on purpose and them put purple spray from napa on them . Like armour all except better.
