Any Rack System Suggestions for SmartCap?

Hello,

I have the EVO SmartCap for my Gladiator. I am looking for a decent priced low-profile roof rack. Any suggestions?

I don't have the rails for the SmartCap, so I am looking for a strong bolt-on option that will stay on full-time. It is mainly for extra gear for camping, mountain and motorcycle trips.

The roof rails are optional now? They were pretty nice and low and have served well hauling kayaks and stuff. I guess you want to use the existing bolts so that measurement will dictate choices, or drill more holes in roof….Jack

I believe the rails come new in the box. I got a last-minute Facebook deal a year ago on a no pickup, and the rails were not in the box. I put it on and went on a trip and didn't care at first. But now I want a rack and don't have the default rails. Existing bolts would be nice, but not opposed to drilling a few holes.

Yakima and Thule both make rails similar to RSI that would fit tight on and could be drilled to match your holes and open you up to more options, I had Yakima roof rails on Suburban for years and held up great.

I would contact RSI about the Rails and see what they have to offer. Mine came with the Rails already attached. I bought a RSI roof rack to go on it. The Front Runner rack may be a little nicer, but also costs more.
