I special-ordered my Overland. I did not get the 8.4, because it was way too much money for the only perceived benefit to me, which would have been the navigation. (Instead, I bought an Overlander from Garmin).

So it seems I just lucked out, if the 7" is reliable and the 8.4" isn't.

With the Garmin you can update the maps for free as roads/speed limits change, not free on any of the automakers navigation system I know of.

4xe version would be cool.

Larger gas tank option for the tow packages or over landing.

To stay competitive with the bronco I can see them coming out with large screens, 35” tire options, and maybe a super charged v6?

They don’t need to make any substantial changes anytime soon. My experience with truck so far is really positive. It’s a pretty well rounded mid sized truck. And thank goodness it doesn’t look like every other truck out there.

Big yes for more onboard fuel! Jeep people tend to like old school stuff. And one old school thing that Jeep people would love is an EXTRA FUEL TANK! You know, like old trucks that had a switch on the dash for "PRIMARY/AUXILIARY" fuel tanks. Back then you needed two tanks because the truck got about 9 MPG. Now we want two tanks so we can drive farther without filling up. This would be a big benefit for people who tow as well as overland.

I guess I'm weird because I think my factory V6 is just fine. It moves my Gladiator along quite nicely and I expect it to do so reliably. Sure, I like superchargers and turbos, but I know enough about that stuff to know it makes things less reliable. I like overlanding and I don't want to get stuck on a remote trail because the blower belt shredded or the blower bearing seized or it simply overheated and melted down.

I would feel fine with a non-aspirated V8 under the hood. But then there's that fuel/range issue again.

I would be happy with a Uconnect system that actually works. That software is dogsh**.
2022, It needs to connect to your home wifi and provide an update on status whenever requested, without a 4G subscription, without a 3rd party involved like Sirius.

Currently, you ask "hey google, ask Jeep how much fuel I have". Maybe you are lucky if you get a response. If you do, chances are the information is 2 weeks old. That doesn't help anyone to know how much fuel I had 2 weeks ago.
For a system that has been around for years, there is not excuse for how bad it still is.
And the fact that it's even called "u connect" is a joke. That implies you can connect. But you can't lol. It's so broken.
Holy hell...I know it’s 2020 when someone is pissed because Google can’t tell them how much fuel is in their car.

Go flipping look! You will find out when you get in it.

I would love an interior that is more basic that doesn't have a touch screen. Basically I just need bluetooth streaming. I had the basic radio in my old Ridgeline and it had bluetooth streaming and a physical pause button...this was absolutely perfect. Even my 2015 BMW doesn't have a pause button (it also doesn't have touchscreen). Thankfully the Gladiators HVAC system can be adjusted without a touch screen. I get that you can make things cheaper if you force everything to be done in a touch screen, but this is just such a horrible idea/path the automotive industry is heading towards. You should be making things safer to use (safer, as in not requiring eyes off the road) by adding more textures to buttons so you can make changes without having to look and touch a screen.
Also, more toggle switches, because toggle switches are awesome and should be required in trucks - even the wimpy Ridgeline had these for some controls and it keeps my eyes on the road. I don't even care what the toggle switches do, but I WANT MOAR!

This started out as rumors of 2022 changes, has devolved into another wish list. Not objecting, just observing.

So - anyone have some real rumors?

Well, we know thus far FCA won't be putting the V8 into the Gladiator. For the same reason the diesel Gladiator has such lackluster towing, FCA is afraid a V8 Gladiator would eat into RAM truck sales.

I’m happy with the v6 as well. Drives nice and does a fence job towing. My main concern is the range. That’s why the 4xe would be nice. Little extra torque and more range. But I would be willing to bet the tow capacity would be less on the 4xe due to the extra weight of the battery and motors.

I noticed with ram and ford, you can get an optional tank for towing. I want to take our travel trail on longer trips, but I don’t want to fill up every 200 miles. But it’s a compromise. I don’t want to drive any other truck as my daily driver. So I’ll deal with the tank size.

Meh, maybe, but both make so much money for them and are very different that I can't see that being the issue. I could see if we were talking about the old Dakota. It's probably more about the bean counters justifying making a midsize gladiator that much more expensive than it already is. It's already a big complaint from people - "OMG, Rubicon costs 60k"...no, no it doesn't..... Sure, it can, but doesn't and you are making #FakeNews headlines....

I’m hoping for HALF DOORS alreay, but hoping for them much sooner than 2022. More like early 2021. Enough is enough. And please don’t make us buy full doors when we just want half doors. I want to buy my 3rd new Jeep but won’t without it. @JeepCares but do you?
