I don't know which route you plan on checking this time, but might I recommend. Taking this route.
We eart lunch at the lake, then continue on to Long Run Road.
Not all of the route would fit on the navigation app. But this would be most of the route.

That's kind of starting at the opposite end from where we set up the meet up point. Wait, I'm not sure of that... Trying to interpret that screenshot is a little tough.. What is the "A" and is Point "E" on Briery Branch Road?.

A is just a place marker to get the Google maps to direct the route. E is Flag pole knob.
This route should give the most dirt time and give us a pretty halfway lunch/break location. Last time I went what I believe is the traditional way and ended at the lake. This way woukd be some new (to me) trails to explore.

Where is that entrance in relation to the meeting point on Rawley Pike? I'm not against taking a different route, but it's kinda late for changing the meeting point, there are people who might not login before tomorrow morning.

It's the same orgingal area. Below is your original meet up point.
I've never done this entrance to the trail. Which is why I think itll be intresting. I'll look on google maps satellite image to confirm shortly.

Ok so this route takes union springs trail. There are youtube videos of this route, so it looks like it'll be a good route.
After we're done at the flagpole knob or lake are whatever we agree on, if there's time I plan on exploring the long run road. Anybody would be free to tag along.

Ok, if it's going up Union Springs, that is the route we were going to take... I'm all for going down long run after we get to the knob, I've only been that way once my self that I recall.

well I see where the confusion comes in now... If you open my 'Route' from Post #22 on a phone, it just takes you straight to flag pole without ever touching Union Springs... If you open it on a computer It takes the route I intended;

And what Nathan is suggesting, is we go up Dunkle Hollow (227) to Switzer Lake Road, and go out to Switzer Lake and stop for Lunch, Then head across 33 to Long Run

I'm good with that!

Nathan's proposed route, Once we get down to Rawley Springs, we could take Dictum Ridge or Second Mountain up to Long Run Road.. I'm not sure of the current situation, but I know a couple years ago parts of Dictum Ridge were closed to traffic, So if we go up to Long Run, we might want to take Second Mountain.

here in KY there are many trails that are county roads. Some are VERY bad and require crossing 30” deep creeks. See if you have something like the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway of Ky or the Kentucky Adventure Tour (which part of goes through VA and WV)
