1st off I have to say I bought my Gladiator 2 years ago and I absolutely love it.
I recently Acquired a 1997 XJ to bash on It's solid and everything works as it should for a 25 year old truck.
Looking for some XJ fans to tell me I'm crazy for throwing money at it, and point the way to the XJ side of Jeep life.

All I can say is I love the XJ if mine was 4x4 I would be throwing money at it and not my gladiators. One day I plan on restoring it and making it like it was when I got it 2004. If you have money to fix it up badass I say do it. I wouldnt bash it on purpose though lol. She is a classic.

I had a ‘97 XJ. It was blast. The only vehicle I regret sellIng.

I looked at picking an XJ up for a toy and keeping my last vehicle, but the XJ prices were ridiculous in my area.

Yup. I still smile whenever I see a lifted XJ. Lots of amusing memories. I.e. About an hour or so after the picture above was taken, I managed to run the drivers-side mirror and A-pillar into a large branch. ? Tore the mirror right off and put a heck of a dent in the A-pillar. ? It was dusk and the branch just came out of nowhere.?

It's going to be fun, can't wait to slap a cheap RC lift on it and trim the fenders. It's a bit of an odd duck, in its former life it delivered mail so only one front seat and it's RH drive. That is going to take some getting used to. I've walked to the wrong side a couple of times and driving down the road is weird to say the least.

My wife came with an XJ when I met her. She was the original owner. Got it in high school and drove it for like 15+ years. She loved it, but it wasn't terribly reliable so we sold it after we got married. I didn't realize what we had at the time. I kind of regret getting rid of it. Probably could have kept it as a toy.

My first Jeep was an '88 XJ. Bought for the first wifey as a daily. I wheeled it on weekends when my '76 Chevy 4x4 was down.

My buddy has a white XJ that is cherry. We call it SnowFlake. He wheels the shit out of it. Never put a dent in it yet.

Saw a bunch of sweet Jeeps around today. This XJ I was able to snap a picture of was one of the cooler builds.

Yukon sticker one the fender, so I take it that the front and rear are built to deal with the huge tires. All around cool rig.

Looks like 35s, they look huge on TJs, ZJs and XJs. Rear is a ford 8.8.

Damnit I need a cheaper obsession like cocaine…
