Has anyone here experience hostility from drivers who own other makes of Trucks and SUVs? This could just be a thing here in my state, but I've noticed in both my JKU and now my JT there has been a lot more cutting-off, tailing and hostility. The funny thing is, when I drive my daughter's KIA or my son's Corolla I get nothing, but the moment I drive my JT there's always a chance of someone cutting me off or driving very aggessive, and I hate to say it but majority of the time its either a Tacoma or 4Runner. My other son experiences the same thing when he drives his JL, and last time I was at the Jeep dealership talking to the techs and sales people, they all experience the same thing as well!

Hawaii seems like a magnet for crazy drivers, this dude came all the way from California just to cause havoc on the roads:

And this nutcase attacked a few people literally walking distance from where I live 😳

Never experienced hostility for driving a Jeep of any kind but when I am out I can almost guarantee that if and when I see an aggressive driver they are in a Chevy truck. Don't quite know what that's all about?

Never experienced this with my Jeeps where I live, however on Maui I've run into that some.

We have a different kind of luck here is SoCal lately. Not so many aggressive drivers as dumb drivers. Ever since Covid people don’t stop when making a right turn. Stop sign, red light…no difference. You should be paying attention at any intersection if you drive in the right lane.

I haven't noticed any issues towards me & the JT..........

You can't drive anywhere around here without experiencing 'dumb asses' everywhere. Most of them have no clue what's going on around them.... and don't care. Are they pre-occupied? Or just don't have a clue about how to drive? It's like a game..... you can predict what they're gonna do before they do it..... just by how their driving (kinda like body language).

The worst?? Those folks who casually drive the acceleration lane..... and STOP at the end of it!!!
By the time they stop (and I have room), I'm already out in the left lane driving around them before they're on the highway. Talk about an accident waiting to happen! Idiots!!

This reminds me of where my sister lives......
For some reason, her area has this 'culture' of stopping anywhere to let people make a left turn in front of them. Sure...You wanna be courteous WHEN it's safe to do so. They'll be going 50mph and literally STOP (and quickly) in the middle of the road to let someone make a left turn! Oh...and I guess it doesn't matter because the person who rear-ends them will be blamed for it....🙄

I live in SoCal too. My best answer for this whole thread is “DASH CAM”. When I picked up my rig and was driving the 2.5 hours home I was on pins and needles. Surprised I had a seat cushion left from the pucker factor. On the drive home from LA area I got into no less than 3 close calls in a lifted rig I was unfamiliar with. People don’t understand that even with good brakes and an averagely skilled driver stopping an armored truck on 37’s doesn’t happen on a dime. Stay safe out there.

Hostility is everywhere. Directed at one brand not so much.

In your area it's Toyota drivers, in my area it's Ram drivers.

I'm sure in other areas it's other brands.

You're just witnessing the lack of courtesy on the road. Used to be everywhere, all the time.
Now it's rare to find courtesy.

Maybe a little from full sized trucks that sit low enough that my hood is above theirs. Jacked up full sized seem to ignore me. On the other hand I've had "Jeep waves" from Tacomas, Canyons, Frontiers, Renegades, and Compasses. I also had one from a HEMTT... He wins.

Where I've seen the most hostility is from Wrangler drivers. Is there some contingent of Wrangler drivers who feel offended by Gladiators or something? I mean, I kind of feel that Renegades and Compasses aren't real Jeeps, but it doesn't make me hostile at them hostile toward them.

Is there a "Jeep wave" etiquette book somewhere I should know about?

This is vs the reactions I get in the Challenger and Fairlane, which is just that everyone wants to race me. Even Wranglers.

True that there is a general lack of concern or courtesy. The me first attitude has definitely taken over.
That’s the main reason I’ve had dash cams since before Covid. Luckily I haven’t needed it yet.

Every day I see at least 4 people run lights/stop signs to be "first", and I travel in hours with minimal traffic.

I think it is psychosomatic more than being any real condition in a broader sense.

We have had a couple young guys at work buy a new sports or muscle car and they come into work later telling stories thinking everybody wants to race them in normal commute traffic. 99% is them projecting that.

Are you saying JT drivers are small penised Momma's Boys and are over compensating?
