I "think" his was built during the chip shortage......so he didn't get it. I ordered mine last week and the Alpine system came with the 8.4
I noticed this week that the 8.4 and Alpine were tied together. I thought I had just missed it. I'm glad to know it changed. I'm not losing my mind. Ha.

I could be wrong, but I thought if you had the 8.4, you had the upgraded Alpine....
Not in Europe. We have other options/levels.

I have 6.5" Infinity's in there, not the MB quart - but I have not had a good experience switching out the knee/soundbar speakers. I think the different channels are "tuned" differently by the Alpine radio and don't sound right changing out the speakers - not sure how yours is. I noticed a difference after changing, but the sound is also off. Noticeable boominess at like 50-60Hz which I am trying to fix.. probably should've just tried bass blockers but I'm trying to put in a different amplifier and a DSP to play with the sound.

Also, people usually are underwhelmed by switching out speakers because if you don't have enough power to drive them, they don't sound good.

YMMV

Even with 400w behind them as I got the full kit, its not particularly impressive on its own. The lack of the bass port does tighten up the sound, but loses the bass. But that is remidied by the two 10” subs as a part of the kit. Just the speakers tho… it’s not gonna be a world of difference.

Thank you for all the reply but they’re no help..
Once more: I have the standaard speaker setup (no optional Alpine system , not available in Europe). I’m not gonna swap the underdash speakers, I won’t install amps, nor subs.
Is it worth to swap the speakers in the soundbar with the MB Quart speakers???

That's kind of what I implied. Without amplifying, I doubt you're going to see any improvement. It might sound brighter with changing the tweeters but I doubt it'll overall be "better" and doubt it'll have more bass.

If starting where you are, I would do easy stuff... plug'n'play 3.5" dash speakers, and in sound bar. Those are your tweeters. I don't think changing the 4" woofers in sound bar (or knee pods) is worth it for above reasons.
I've cut out the sound bar and I wasn't happy. Now I also have a buzz to track down, seems like from the speaker but not sure if it's a rattle from the adapter plate or cut up sound bar. I wish I wouldn't have done it, but some people seemed happy and that's what convinced me to do it.:headbang:
I just wired in a cheap under seat sub, which was super easy btw.

I'm telling you, I think you'll be happier and it'll be easier to change out the tweeters, and wire in a cheap sub if you need the bass.

Owned a high end car audio shop for 7 years in the early 90's. IMO and as MX5RED stated just swapping out speakers may not accomplish what you want. Usually better speakers require more power to operate correctly. If you want to spend some $'s and not installing an AMP find the lowest power speaker from the mfg. of your choice.

The MB Quart have 86 dB sensitivity, which is not great compared to other mid-high range speakers. It means it takes more power for the same level of sound. This may be why people say they lose bass. Because they actually do. Upgrade with a speaker with a low resistance and good sensitivity (Like n Infinity/JBL which run at about 3 ohm and have 93 dB sensitivity). The alpine amp makes only about 45 watts peak and much less RMS per channel (I think it was like 15-20W someone figured out on another FCA forum), so high wattage speakers don't mean much. You'll blow the speakers from clipping the amp before they go out from too much power. I've used Infinity Reference speakers with good success, but I have also added amps and sound processors-which gets a tone more out of a sound system.

3.5" and 4" kickers are direct replacements in the sound bar and dash. No modification needed and they sound great..If you add a mini amp[about the size of an iPhone] they sound amazing but they sound much much louder than stock even with out the amp..

https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/drivers-side-knee-panel-speaker-removal-wtf.41474/ This gives some good advice..ignore the title..i know you don't want to change the under dash speakers but the thread is very informative

As I would like to tune up the sound of the speakers I finally ordered the 6x9" MB Quart speakers.
But after reading so much pro and contra I'm not sure any more...
Before I start cutting : who can confirm that it wil be better in sound?
I'm planning to use dynamat on de inside of the boxes and fill them with polyfill.
I already swapped the dash speakers with Quadratecs, but I don't hear any difference.
I'm not planning to do the under dash speakers, nor sub.
Won' t I lose bass with the MB's in the soundbar installed?
Oh, I have the 8.4 Uconnect, no Alpine pack.
Here's what I did https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/base-system-speaker-upgrade.75015/#post-1562924

I found tweeters in the dash sounded better than 3.5" speakers because they didn't over power the base from the lower dash speakers. I wonder if the Quadratec's wiring is reversed. Might be worth swapping the wires to see if it helps.

i would say no. The highs were a lot louder, but if youre not adding an amp eventually, then no.

I would switch the upper dash corner speakers(ten minutes job) and the soundbar speakers, the four inch, with jbl or kickers. I prefer the jbls over the kickers. just my two cents. cutting out the soundbar wasnt necessarily difficult, but 2-4 hours to get a minimal gain.....that doesnt make sense to me, but you will notice a 'brighter' (idk which user said this, but its the perfect term) sound from them. i bought my jbls and kickers from crutchfield.

PM me for any other questions or pics or whatever.

Waste of time to put in speakers and not put an amp on them.

Why are you against an amp?

I'm not against an amp. I'm just against adding electronics to my Jeep. This is my second Gladiator in 6 months, and although I love to drive it, I'm sick of all the dash errors and call backs for poor quality issues etc... The dealer 'gave' me a second Gladiator after wiring loom issues in the first one.
I would not touch any electronic for not losing my waranty.
I had top Alpine stuff in my BMW's before/ head units, screens, amps, subs, speakers... And they on the shelf in the garage, but no way I put them in the JT at this moment...
I just want to hear my music cleaner. But if it is not worth it to swap any speakers for a better result, I rather keep it stock...
Although if I could add a small sub and amp without removing the head unit and carpet I would do this instead. The Alpine sub seat sub is to much work now...

For the trouble to install and sound difference, I don't believe they are worth the full asking price. I bought mine half off when they were running the Jeep Beach or whatever it was sale earlier in the year. If it wasn't for that sale, I probably would not have purchased them.
