Hey guys,
Got a sweet promotion/raise from my place of work this past week, so rewarded myself with the Khaki Armorlite and will be putting it in this weekend!
Couldn't believe how quickly it was shipped out to me.
I will make sure to post pics, I am the first person I know who went with the Khaki on the tan cloth seats with the Punk'n Metallic paint.
Woo!!
UPDATE WITH INSTALL WRITEUP
Alright,
Happy to report back on my install! I only cut my hands in three places!?
Tools used:
-Socket Wrench
-Applicable Torx and socket bits.
-A Library Card(my poor library card)
-Brute Force
-Ignorance
Decided to tackle this solo this morning, took me around 3.5 hours.
First, I made sure to pull all the carpets out during the week this week to make my life easier today, so this morning all I had to do was pull the trim, the seats, and vacuum. Pulling the trim was easy, and no clips were harmed during the install of these floors. I was unable to remove the center console bolts after popping all of the bolt covers loose with my long expired library card which, I am sad to say, is no longer with us. Reason I couldnāt loosen those bolts is because for some reason I did not have a single socket that fit the boltsā¦.very annoying.
After removing the seat bolts I moved the seats further back and installed the front floors, took a bit of effort getting the floors under the console but wasnāt too bad, everything lined up pretty easy and popped back together just fine.
Doing the back seat areas alone was more difficult because it required me shifting The floor from each side slowly, making sure to keep the center cut area tucked under the console the entire time. The back seats would definitely be easier with a second person, but overall very doable alone.
I donāt own a torque wrench, so I will be Visiting my brother at some point this weekend to finish securing the seats to torque specks, but overall super happy with how these look.
Nice vintage feel with the khaki, reminds Me of my old 1996 XJ.
There is definitely a sound reduction over the factory rugs, much more deadened which is nice.
I have two dogs who shed quite a bit, so its going to be a breeze to clean out now!
I say if youāre on the fence, go for it, you wonāt be disappointed!
Also, before you say it, yes I know my plugs are installed facing opposite directions, I need to fix it ?, I also forgot to ask for orange plugs, so I am going to need to order some!
Happy to answer any questions you might have!
