Hello to all! I purchased a new 2023 Gladiator that had sat on the lot for 9-10 months. The auto start/stop never worked even after 6,000 miles of driving in less than 2 months. The charging voltage stayed from 14.3 to 14.7. I had a chance to take it to the dealership today to verify that it was the auxiliary battery. The main battery tested good and the auxiliary battery tested bad. They replaced it under warranty and now the charging system works as it should. I know the service manager so I asked him what the warranty cost was for charge/test/replace and it was $281.00. The customer pay price would have been much higher. Even if you don't like or use the auto start/stop get it done while it is free!

Anyone had this done on a customer paid ticket? If so how much was it? Just curious.

I like " free " when I can get it. I also would not risk deleting it as with my luck they would probably decline any other warranty to do with the charging system. I don't want to give them an excuse.

For those who don’t want to delete the aux battery you can get a Delco battery for around $105 plus tax off Amazon. Charged and installed mine about 2 months ago. No further issues afterwards.

You don't have to do the full delete. You can bypass the aux battery in about 15 minutes, and it's easily undone before taking in for any warranty services.

Been more than a few threads on the subject but the general rule seems to be you can do both the main and aux battery replacement in the $300-$350 range self installed using Auto Parts store battery costs and $600+ at the dealership. With some work, you get it done sub $300 online with Amazon sourced batteries or Costco/Walmart/Sam's Club battery pricing.
