I’ve noticed that passive regeneration triggers @ 80% soot. If temperatures are not high enough when passive regen starts, it will fail. I typically see about 800 miles or more between passive regen. That’s assuming I’m driving mostly highway. Because of the cold weather I tend to idle more, either remote start to warm up or killing time in the truck before work. Soot increases faster on idle.
I set an alarm on Regen to turn red when active, makes it easier to see. I also keep the count of completed vs attempted regeneration. Sitting around 50% with 6 cycles complete, 11 failed. Never have triggered an active regen though. && most of those regen were when my wife was driving, stop & go, short miles.
That is actually active regen. Passive regen occurs at any time when DPF is hot enough but very incrementally reduces the soot.

Okay, I should have said normal vs forced Regen. Active/passive… I used the term passive as in ‘normal’ … because it’s active in the background. ..

I haven't seen a regen ever. I got over 9,400 miles now.
You probably had at least 12 to 15 regens depending on your ratio of highway miles.
I never reach soot level of more than 65% as my highway to street driving miles ratio is 70:30. It regens when soot level builds up to 80% but it also regens when after certain engine run hours are reached, whichever comes first. In my 70% highway driving, it regens every 650-700 miles though due to passive regens, soot level remains under 65%.

Since I installed the iDash gauge. I'm seeing roughly 700 miles and 1100 minutes from when my soot level drops from around 65% ~ 70%.
