I found myself in a precarious situation late last night. I stopped by Windrock on my way back to Florida and completed a couple easy trails because it was all at night, was wheeling alone, and I haven’t added additional skid plates, lifter tires. I just completed Trail G 40 which is an out and back and I was sitting at the intersection of G 40 and G2. When I got a ding on my dash I looked up and a message said my DPF was almost full. The problem was I had quite a ways to get back to the general store so I could air up and get back on the road. The issue was I was at some decent elevation and essentially I was coasting downhill the majority of the way, which I don’t believe aids in the regeneration process. I’m not sure how close I was to going into limp mode or having it shut off on me, or potentially doing damage to the DPF filter, after I aired up it took about 15 minutes at 45 and 50 miles an hour at a low gear to force about 2000 RPM.
