Hi guys,

So after installing a lift and going on 35's I experience some steering/links issues.

Beside the weids noise it bothered me so much then decide to change all the stuffs ... trackbar - drag link - tie rods etc.

Do you have any advices about that?

Actually im into 2 different brands : Apex Chassis with their 2.5 Tons tie rods :

https://apexchassis.com/collections...t115-jeep-jl-steering-kit-steel?your_rig=true

and steersmarts with their Yeti XD line.

Last question , I noticed I still have the aluminium steering gear, should I replace it with the upgraded Steel gearbox? or should it be the first move to do?

Thanks guys

I was in your exact situation. My advice would be to have the steering box replaced first, then add the necessary parts. I personally went with Falcon steering stabilizer, and Rusty's tie rod and drag link set up. I also tightened up the steering box roughly an 1/8th of a turn. This combo gave me wonderfully responsive steering and great front-end tire wear.

Thanks a lot for your return . I will go for that too. I have a fox full setup ( mopar lift and stabilizer) .
Will order this steering box right now . Let’s hope it’s not in back order ?

Did you have the Mopar lift kit installed by dealership? If so what is their though on this problem? You might try or have them to adjust the power steering gearbox too. I've got no doubt that if you have the aluminum steering gearbox that it's a problem. Mine had that at first, I didn't really think it was a problem until I was driving down a straight road after some rain. I was looking in rear view mirror and seen that I was leaving a trail down the road that reminded me of snakes moving across sand. A long time ago many dealership's "in Germany" loved my Jeep Comanche pickup so I got great service from them. Not your country though but never know. One dealership would wash, wax and detail it to have parked to be be first thing seen.... (Knowing now) I should have sold it in Europe in 1998 before I left. :headbang:
Best of luck with it. The last time I was in Belgium was in 1997 I think, beautiful country and towns. I should have spent some more time there, when I was living in Europe. I spent most time in Germany, Austria and driving in former E. Germany and "warsaw pact" countries.

One of the only pro about Belgium is … it’s so small than you’re quickly on the border ;-) I’m living at 40 miles from Germany so I could definitely go there .
to be honest I’m definitely not the best ambassador about my country . I can say that to fucking hate it . I try to find some attractive point here , but maybe except social security and health services I don’t see anything ;-)
Back to the dealer , no I didn’t asked them , after installing the lift by myself I asked them to do a alignment , it was worst than before …. Like you pick the car and your steering wheel is event worst than before . And when you ask them what they did answer is : take another appontement we gonna try to fix it ????
+ a lift isn’t streek legal in Belgium so dealer doesn’t have this mopar products available for sales
And regarding the steering gearbox … even with the TSB showing it’s a well known issue with a service repair they said: it’s an imported car and the official importer doesn’t allows us to replace the part under the warranty or factory recall . If you want to change it you have to pay for parts and labor .

but I will check on the US stores to order the replacement kit and once I get it I willgo back to a dealer for installation .

still have some kids to do on my JT but actually it’s more like something really hard to do … I would like 37 all terrain but … nothing in Europe , have to import them too …. And prices with taxes and transport are damn crazy ??? imagine … almost 4000$ for 4 tires … welcome in tax land ????

Understand that fuel prices was stupid even when I was there, I bought gas in CZ many times being quite a bit cheaper than Germany or anywhere else. I wasn't going to go there on politics. ;) :like: I do know and understand. I had a few friends who would "loan" me stuff at certain times of the year for a few weeks.
I'm not a great fan of social medical and like.... anyone who thinks differently good for you some of us have lived with it!!! VA / military medical multi-tiered health care system that just depends on who you are.
I'll be in time out or banned probably for that.

What kind of weird noises are you getting? Clicks, clanks and rattles?

If so, you probably just need to get under there and do a full re-torque of all the hardware.

For the steering, definitely take a closer look at the Steer Smarts, Yeti parts, very good quality, very heavy-duty.

And don't forget the Track Bar and Sector Shaft Brace:

I completely agree with @j.o.y.ride - a Mopar lift and 35s should not cause any serious steering issues. In terms of steering, all I had to do was center the steering wheel (I did add a track bar in front and a track bar bracket in back, but not because of any steering issues). It tracks straight and does not do anything untoward.

Many answers full of good sense . I think I will do it again from point 1
Check if everything is correct and tightened at the right torque
Change the steering gear
I lifted it myself and I think I did it right . On a second thought the only doubt I have is regarding the rubber isolator on the top of each springs . Im not sure the little piece is correctly fitted . Damn I have some work to do next weekend ;-)
Thanks everyone for your comments it’s really appreciated
