I just picked up my 2021 Willys and there's lots I like, but the base package speaker system is a pretty big letdown, I knew it wasn't great, but that can be rectified, I'm just not sure how to go about it. There are lots of options out there at a lot of different price points, but I'd rather not spend 2k today, so what would the forum recommend as a step 1-2-3 that would eventually be a respectable system?

Dont worry, its not just the base. The premium stereo is also butt cheeks. So you were smart to save on that waste of $$.

The easiest and cheapest upgrade is to google the Kicker Dodge Dart speakers. They fit in both the overhead and the ones by your windshield. Youll spend ~$250-300 ~$150 and your improve the sound immensely.

After that, you have to start looking at after market head units and a sub/amp combo to really make it sound nice.

There are many good threads on here about speaker upgrades. Do you have the 5" or 7" display ?

Many are just replacing out the 3.5" in the dash, and the 3.5" and 4" in the sound bar, leaving the 4" in the knee panels alone.

Here is a link to my posting on what I am doing. Just replacing speakers and adding a sub.

Thanks for the reply. I've got the technology group with Uconnect 4 w/ 7" touchscreen. 8 speakers (I think).

I adjusted my base sound in the equalizer menu and they're better than most base setups in cars

I sorta like the 7", what I have as well. I am just swapping speakers (and increasing their size). The pods sound great, more work. WIll have the front tweeters in this weekend. I think my speakers were about 250 the sub is more like 3 (got a discount on amazon for 150 off with prime CC). The pods and adapters another 150. so about 500 for me (with discounted sub). Misc connectors etc. so lets say 600.

I replaced my speakers with the Kickers in both of my previous Jeeps, didn’t really notice much of a difference to be honest.

Might want to check the polarity. A lot of people have found that the Gladiators wires are backwards.

This is spot on for my budget and capability. Would it be too much to ask for a few item numbers?

Sure, this was my setup. But there are many kicker, infinity, etc in the same price range based on what you keep original size or upgrade to larger. Only have front pods in now, will have dash 3.5's in this weekend (waiting on correct connector). Maybe soundbar this weekend as well. Sub in a few weeks (probably Christmas holiday as I have some time off)

Front Dash:
JBL Club 3020 3.5 ($36)

Front Kick panel (like I said most skip this part):
JBL Club 6520 ($48)
6.5" pods ($60)

Sound Bar (either replace 3.5 and 4", or go larger with 6.5 or 6x9):
JBL Club 8620 6x9 ($64), this requires the cutting of the sound bar. And these adapters below

6x9 Adapters ($70):

There is also this adapter if you want 6.5 or component in soundbar ($99)
Sub:
Kicker 46H10 10" compact ($332), saved 150 with prime sign up so ($282)

That brings me to about $560 without tax, shipping (free with Prime), and misc connectors and cables to run power to sub. That is replacing all speakers out, and upgrading kickers to 6.5 and soundbar to 6x9. But like I said there are many 3.5 and 4 inch speakers for 40-100 dollars each to replace the 8 main 3.5 and 4's, but if you take out the dash to replace the 4", go with the new 6.5 pods ;)
