So I have been running the CTEK. I got up to float after a day or so. Checked today and I am back in bulk. Vehicle hasn't been driven or disconnected from the maintainer.

This leads me to believe that maybe I have parasitic draw? I know these cars generally are pulling power all the time in some aspect.

I do have two SPOD units. I think deep sleep is disabled on them..but not sure if that would cause a large parasitic draw.

Battery is a tad warm too. Nothing alarming. I know during bulk charge - heat can generate.

After it reaches float, I am going to take it off and test voltage after a few hours to see what the numbers are and if something is really sapping power.
The JT has a fairly high parasitic draw, especially with the 8.4 head unit. For longer battery life, the maintainer is an unfortunate necessity if the vehicle is not driven enough to keep the batteries charged.

did a decent amount of research and shopping around, can anyone offer an opinion on my plans for battery maintainer/charger setup i'm considering. my thinking is to get these 3 items, and hookup the noco charger via the 7pin trailer plug. before i burn my garage down, is this going to work? goal is basically to top-up/maintain/desulfate etc the factory batteries, as it seems just daily driving approx 14mi to work, and 14mi back, isn't enough as they charge slow and have high parasitic draw:

Did you read this part of the user manual?
“This product is designed to work in ambient temperatures between -4° F and 104° F (do not operate outside of these temperatures”!!!!)
*this is why they don’t work in Alaska. Some of the Northern States and most of Canada*

I don't live that far north, and also will use in a temp controlled garage so not a concern for me personally

Question is really just confirming if this will work. It seems almost too simple tbh

The parts should work out - I can't speak to that charger. Mine do perfectly well, won't speak to a Noco. Never owned on, no plans to..

I think your charging idea is fine. But also think 25 miles a day driving (which you seem to do) should be enough to keep your batt charged.

14 to work, 14 back likely wont' cut it.
The charge cycle starts again at next start so really he's only driving it 14 miles at a time. Then it sits through the day, then he starts it again, then it tries to top off the battery again in the short drive back home.

Yea makes sense. I'm only doing 14mi every 12 hours really.
Really odd though, the issue i had and what got me to the path of getting a charger, is ess failing to start the engine at a stoplight near the tail end of a road trip, followed by "service ess system" warning. It was at least 150 miles of continuous driving at that point.

I'll get this setup and see where it gets me thanks for the input
