Beadlock Question

How often does everyone re-torque their bead locks? After every wheeling trip, oil changes or just leave them be until you get new tires?

I started with weekly after mounting the tires and would find a few bolts that needed a small turn. After a while I changed that to bi-weekly and now i check them once a month to just make sure everything is good. Before and after each wheeling trip as well just for peace of mind.

I started after the first drive then about every 100 miles. Now check them occasionally and every 5 tire rotation. On my KMC beadlocks the rings fully seat against the rim itself so the bolts don't loosen over time from what I have found.

depends on the bolt type. I got a buddy who blew his ring on the highway cus the bolt heads snapped off. he was retorqueing em every tire rotation and apparently with his specific wheel they are one time use, set and forget. so he was slowly stretching the bolts to failure over time. they were a bitch and a half to extract. so check with your wheel manufacturer before you give yourself a headache.

I purchased this torque wrench and keep it in my jeep

I first torqued them one a week until they all seated and now about one a month
Specs on the bolts is 25lbs put I torque to 22.5lbs
The last thing you want to do is over torque and ether pull the treads or stretch the bolts
Also make sure you use anti-seize on the bolts. You are not going to get an accurate torque it the bolts are seized or not turning in the threads
anti-seize will help the dissimilar metals from corroding and seizing

Thinking back, I seem to be doing a bolt check annually, right before EJS. I've had the same set of Trailready beadlocks on my JK since 2012 and once a new set of tires settles in none of them ever loosen. Buy quality wheels and you'll have no problems.
